People are seeing and catching plenty of sunfish, crappie and perch on the SE side of the lake. As the weather gets nicer, the fish start biting and the people come out. We won't have many weekends left of our access.

So, with that, as a resorter, I respect that some people do not want to pay to go out of a resort road. But PLEASE GO BACK THE WAY YOU CAME!

We have had at least 3 vehicles run our access today on the way out because they choose not to go back out, we saw them come out of the public. One vehicle actually did stop when we asked them to and paid us to come off our access, the other vehicle was going too fast to stop and the 3rd vehicle, even though we were out there and standing in the road decided to speed up so I had to jump out of the way. I did get their license plate PWY 577 and they have been reported to the police for trespassing and reckless driving.

We have children here and pets at the resort and people flying off like that can kill someone.

Not only that, but we work hard to maintain our access and the more vehicles that drive on it, the more beat up it gets and then we're done.

So please, if you want to go out of the public, go there both ways, please respect our access which is our livlihood for the little season we have left.

Thank you

:fudd: I know how you feel, :sorry: I have guys that dont pay, ones who only want to pay $5.00 dollars because we are a little lake, or tell us there buddys are out there so they shouldnt have too, or like you get on somewhere else and then use our road. so I hope they catch the guys and give hime some time to think about that this is our business.
I do know 99% of sportsman are fun to be around its the 1% that make you wonder why you do this business. so keep the faith and maybe you will be lucky and not have to deal with that 1% the rest of the year.

Thanks for the note - I hope so as well. We manned the access Saturday night and at least 15 vehicles that started up our access stopped and turned back to the public access when they saw Mike standing there.

A few sunday AM that were from the public access didn't even try to head out our way but we did watch them go out another resort access we can see from shore, so they still abused the system but didn't abuse our access.

If word starts getting out that resorters are reporting, then hopefully this will get back on track! Good luck to you!

you could always just park a truck there on the access... then they'd have to get out and come in and ask you to move it.  then at least you don't have to sit there all day.
If a gun kills people then I can blame a pen for my misspells?

That is a good idea - we did park it and leave it run with the lights on (after dark) so people would see it (which did deter quite a number of people) but we didn't block the access with it - seemed there were too many legitimate vehicles.

:rotflmao: I put up 2 gates with a cable and a clip up so they have to stop and unclip the gate before coming off. I went back to the farm we had before here and got them and have 2 extra you can have them. my customers dont have a problem unclipping the gate on way out and way in and people who didnt come through my place think its locked. also make its nice this time of year when the ice is getting soft I can lock it so 1 ton trucks dont go out.

I am going to talk to mike about it - that is a good idea. We thought of a gate arm but that's pricey. I like your idea. At least they will be out of their vehicle if they are trying to run it. I'll get back to you on it!

How about this May/June.. I will make sure this happens. There is a window that they come in and it can be fun. I will let you know. Haven't heard much about the crappies in the last year... not sure how they are doing. Anyone know??

Ice in the bay is good. Walking out will be wet and the access for driving should be open through the weekend. There is quite a bit of water, but it's still driveable.

There are tons of crappie and sunnies and some people are able to get them and others just manage to watch them on the cameras. We've heard of several limits - that was as of last week, I haven't talked to anyone out there the last couple days.
