Maplewood State Park to feature music of Alabaster Falls
(Released August 26, 2010)

Local folk-grass trio Alabaster Falls - featuring the vocal talent of Julie Kaiser with Bill Kaiser and Paul Jones on guitar - will perform at Maplewood State Park in Pelican Rapids on Saturday, Aug. 28, at 7 p.m.

This program is part of the new “Outdoors EXTRA!” series that aims to get more people outdoors - especially families with young children. The series will focus on new things to see and do at Minnesota state parks, trails, and recreation areas yet this summer. The series, which began in June and runs through Sept. 25, includes more than 50 events featuring known entertainers, musicians, storytellers and outdoor skill-building experts.

These events are free, but a vehicle permit is necessary to enter Minnesota state parks and recreation areas. Permits ($5 for a one-day permit or $25 for a year-round permit) can be purchased at the parks.

For more information about Outdoors EXTRA! and other programs and events at Minnesota state parks and trails, visit mndnr.gov/parksandtrails or contact the DNR Information Center at info.dnr@state.mn.us or 651-296-6157 (Twin Cities) or 888-646-6367 (toll-free) between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
