Last year a number of us posted pictures of our view from a deer stand.  I enjoyed very much seeing what others look at while in a deer stand.  Here is the view I had last Saturday evening.  Post your views for all of us to enjoy.

Looks like a great spot Hunter2.   I spent yesterday evening in looking at this.  The deer came in after shooting hours.   :doah:

This morning I went to a different spot and saw an 8 Pt on the trail in this picture.  Lots of brush and leaves.  The deer have to be right on top of you before you see them.

Deedeye the top picture.  Is that the tree in the middle of the food plot that you thought wasn't the best spot because the deer would be able to see you to easily before entering the plot?

dakids, yes it it.  It's the first time ever I hunted this spot.  Mostly I wanted to see if deer would come in with me sitting there.  Also, I wanted to look over the area around the plot to see if there is a better place to put a stand.  The only acceptable tree is about 20 yards to the north.  This should work because the enterance points to this plot are on the northeast and northwest sides so the shot would be less than 30 yards.

Here is a picture of a herd of deer feeding directly under the stand.  Note: I was not in it at the time.  :rotflmao:

How about adding a ground blind to the plot.

That's not a bad idea.  I bought one a few weeks ago and haven't deployed it yet.  I was thinking of putting it someplace I would want to hunt if it was raining.

Brush it in real good and leave it there.  Also bring a rake and get the ground very clen and level if needed.

Here is where I spent Saturday evening.  I didn't see anything but I got pics of deer taken at the same time I was here. Trail camera was 100 yards away.

I saw two deer from here on Sunday morning.  Neither offered a decient shot.  As you can see, the underbrush still has most of their leaves making it really tough to see a deer let alone get a shot at one.

I didn't know they make them this small.  This fawn fed around me Sunday morning for 40 minutes.  I thought sure momma would show up.  Never did see her.  I'm now thinking this may be an orphan.

These stand views are on the food plot I put in this fall.  I hunt the double bull on a south wind (like tonight w/ my daughter - same stand the wife shot her buck).  The other view is from my west stand sits about 20yds off the plot.

Lots of pines in the second picture.  We have none (except the ones we planted) where I hunt.

I spent Saturday morning looking at this.  No deer showed up but, I had a porkey wander around me most of the morning.  It sounded like someone dragging a block of wood throught the woods.
From the picture you can see the leaves are gone and visibility it high.

Make your first shot count, it might be the only one you get.

kid 1, that's quite some view.  You could almost see a deer in the next county.

The deer love the alfalfa and rye grain food plots.  Dad thinks we need to make it thicker by hinge cutting all of the trees except the oaks.

I think it's a great place to start planting some evergreens.  Black hills spruce, jack pine, red pine etc.

Here is where I spent a few hours the other day.  I watched geese, ducks, squirrls, birds and nature in general, but didn't see a deer.

For one reason or another, I had never made it to this stand this fall.  I don't know what posessed me to go there yesterday (Wednesday) evening in the full out blow.  One deer finally came in to view at 6:30 (after I packed up and was ready to leave).  I did get a nice wind burn.
