my neighbor was on Goose last week and said quote "I am not a bad icefisherman the fish just fear me". So I would say it was slow for him anyway.

I was out on Goose last year and it was slow but I have never been there before. I just moved around untill I marked fish. Alot of perch and couple of good northerns. The lake is suposed to be good for Northerns.

I fish Goose a few times a year.

The best access is a payed access, with a small parking lot between the north and south lakes.

It does have a DNR access, but is not the best (unless they upgraded it since the last time I used it)

It has a 5 crappie limit and a slot on walleyes.
The best time to catch pike is early in the season on the north end.
And they tend to run on the smaller size.

Along the western shore line on the southern lake, it drops off to like 50 some odd feet.
I start by punch'in holes and work my way east....every 10 to 15 feet (it drops off fast)
I'll check each hole with my vex till I find fish. I always start with something small, wax worms or magots.
Glow jigs have always worked best for me, demons or marmooskas.
