Anybody get a new bow for Christmas?

I picked up a new bow for my son (I didn't get one)
I got him a Razor Edge...a good beginner bow.

What did you get?

I got my daughter a (150.00) gift card for christmas.  Planning on purchasing it after we get the tax return or final check from the insurance company for last summers hail damage.  which ever comes first.

Sounds like the kids are getting all the good stuff.

I got my daugher a Mathews Genesis because her school participates in NASP - National Archery in the Schools Program.  In NASP all the kids use the exact same equipment - a Genesis bow and identical aluminum arrows - with no sights, releases, or fancy rests.  These bows aren't much for hunting, but the bows and NASP curriculum are just the thing for learning and honing archery skills.

Mathews Genesis is similar to Razor Edge in that draw weight is adjustable, but it tops out at 20 lbs for target shooting purposes.  It is a single cam bow with no let-off.  This allows the bow to have a variable length draw.  Anyone from short kids to tall adults can shoot the same bow without making any adjustments.  It is ideal for its intended purpose.

I 'spose in a couple of years my kids will be ready for hunting bows and then the Razor Edge will be the way to go.

im gona pick up a PSE stinger just sold my old bow on craigslist today so should get the new one in a few weeks (or for my b day ) in march almost got half the money for it atm

I just won a Mathews Drenalin at the Houston, MN Fire Dept Fundraiser raffle last night.  It came with a Gander Mountain $100 gift card as well.  Does Gander set up bows? 

Now I can pass my Mathews Switchback XT on to my son.  Although the switchback being several inches shorter makes me wonder if I'd be better off staying with it...

jkcmj,  Keep the old one and give the new one to your boy.   A couple years ago I won a Hoyt Katera at an MDHA banquet.  I kept my Bow Tech and gave my son the new Hoyt.  I shot it a couple times first just to see if I would miss it.
