Its an amazing sight to behold if your timing is right,100's of thousands of migrating waterfowl,a good shoot is always in the double digits and on occassion triple digits,we've had a few days where we grounded over 100 birds, usually a avergae day will consist from a handful to 20,30 plus.

Looking at the snow pac,i'll bet the boyz in nebraska are doing well.

I've got the connection's guyz, shoot me a PM,its best to book a hunt for at least three days if ya can,but you can book 1/2 days or whatever for a good decoy shoot, hell sometimes If my guy is booked I 'll head out early when the birds are thick and find a good pass shooting spot, then "whack-n-Stack" other times they'll have no shows and you can jump in or just reserve your days now,the best thing is we hunt in small groups,I could'nt stand being in a field with 10 or 12 strangers bangin geeese.

Guy,know problem...

Again depending on the snow line, you might see a feww 100 along the Mn/sodak border, nothing like you'll see along the main travel route tho,I do know that folks just across the river near mill bank sodak get their fare share on occassion, for $50 you can get your early spring lite goose license in sodak as long as you have your federal 2012 waterfowl stamp, your good to go,20 bird daily limit with no possession limit. If ya go make sure you can ID the blues, often you'll get white fronted geese (specs) that migrate with the snows and blues, the juvie specs don't have the spec coloring and look like a young blue goose except for their orange bill. You would'nt believe all the other species of waterfowl you'll see, best looking pintails fully plumged with long sprigs which you won't see in the fall.

Ah man, here we go again, another spring dump coming our way, this one is suppose to drop up to 12"s across nebraska, parts of kansas and into missouri if the model holds, that should really screw up the mitgration for a few more days or longer.Sodak still has some major snow pack as well,15+"s thru the mid section of the state, nothing a good rain and strong wind could'nt knock down in few days if it ever warms up tho.

FYI

Made a run to central sodak over the weekend after a friend called and said it was time,my observation was we were just a tade early but scratched out 82 birds  in less than two days,we shot a high average of ross geese and two year old snows and blues, inbetween juvies and adult birds,we had 3 dogs in the field that were rookies and the birds busted us everytime the dogs would'nt kennel when they herd them coming  but thats how they learn, eastern sodak still had some snow and the water was still froze meaning the major migration is still coming,my guess is this coming week, further west, maybe around redfield sodak unless it snows some more?

We had an outdoor TV crew working our area and hunting/filming with our outfitter, keep a lookout for an upcoming show on "Drakes Migration Nation" and another from this week on "The Fowl Life" Chad Belding and crew are shooting tomorrow through the week, should be good stuff and they are with the right outfitter, these guyz have it together like no others, and I've been at this since day one 14 years ago(spring conservation snow goose hunt)...

I'll get some pics up later.

Well we use the "bird hitch" that is really a slick deal to clean the birds, breasts the birds out in seconds and leaves two wings, cut one wing off for transport then fill the cooler, once I get home I drop off most of the birds at my local butcher,he does a great job grinding up summer sausage,I save several breast for bacon wrapped kabobs though out the summer.

I hunt one farm where the farmer takes'em from us on occassion,he tells us his wife makes them taste like pork!,then one day he showed us what he does...He feeds the birds to his pigs, great big narwly beasts, then later in the year they butcher the pigs...The birds they ate makes'em taste just like pork.... ;DThat is a true story.

This video shows what hevi shot can do @ long range, the guy shooting next to the camera is shooting BC,he takes acouple of shots and you can see where he shoots in slow mo frame by frame,I took the bird from the far left with one shot,3"duces,shots like this is where hevi shot shines, fun stuff.

BTW,the furthest decoy out is 128yds so you get an idea how far out this bird was trying to escape in the wind, wish we had more pics but no body wanted to lay their gun down...
