4-6 inches of snow in the forecast here for the overnight, extra little water is always good but I really am done with winter  :doah:

Buddy north of me reports 10 inches of snow fell, like me he says he is just going to sit and watch it melt. Problem with that is rain or SNOW  :snow5: in the forecast for the rest of the week. HD will have to bring the waders to fish this spring..

Just trying to keep things interesting for you, they got about 8 inches where you come to fish and there shuold be more water then last year in the river. Going to be a muddy trail for you to walk.. At least gas will be a little cheaper!

I was killing some time on the Internet waiting for a phone call when I came across an article on five things a father should teach his son, the guy didn't have a clue what he was talking about. So this is what I have so far, what do you think you should teach your son?

How to throw a tight spiral

How to throw a baseball

How to catch a baseball

How to drink water from a facet using only your hand

How to build a fire

How to change oil on a muddy truck

How to BBQ a steak

How to tie at least three different kinds of knots

Righty tighty lefty loosy

How to back up a trailer

How to say you are sorry

How to stick your fingers in your mouth and whistle

How to use a compass

How to pound a nail

How to say please and thank you

How to say no

And how to say Yes more then No

The list of course applies to girls to, they should know these things too

Top of my head if you are looking for a good chance at trophy Northern and Musky fishing and a place for the kids to go I would say Lake Vermilion. Include walleye fishing and a pretty good smallmouth population. There are several resorts on the lake and if you do a web search you will find out a lot more then I can type here. Here is a place to start..  http://www.lakevermilionresorts.com/

them are purrty ones, but we have to melt some snow before we can use them!

I am in trouble here, just broke my second shovel. Actually the wife broke one because I said I was not shoveling after the 1st of April  so to prove a point she went out and tried. Plow left us a nice curl of snow across the drive that I would just drive through in 4x4 but no the wife had to shovel. Now I went out to finish what she started and broke the last shovel...  :oops1:  Going to have to let it melt now   :coffee:

I like the last photo Lee as it will work with the  :snow5:  but then my boat is inside,,,,, Bobby i told my wife the same thing No more shovel for me,,,,, After three days on the roof,,,, :doah: I still do not need a latter to get on the roof,,, Just walk up and down the other side,,,,, I see the deck is bowling a little by the front door. That because after I shovel the roof I would have to shovel it off the deck but it got  :cold: before it got done,,

Tonight sound like a stay home,,,, as this next snow storm come over,  :snow5:

Sent Duncan out for his last outside visit and he came back a white lab  :snow5:  heavy wet snow falling and 35 mph winds have the trees swaying pretty good. If this was a thunderstorm like what should be falling in mid April it would be a doozie..

I actually did a search and there has been none proven that I could find. A few pictures of what may be patches of snow. I did find some tornado damage where it had snowed after the tornado did the damage.  Guess even more uncommon then the thunder snow storm. ( which we had one here last night)

Nice day here today with no rain and a high in the mid 50's. I went out to the shed and gathered up all my empty tcw3 outboard oil bottles. I filled them all out of my gallon size jugs so I'll be ready for our trip to MN. I figure I have enough oil ready for 21 six gal tanks of gas.

I've already got the family room filled with stuff we'll be needing for our 3 wk. getaway. We take so much stuff that it would be hard to fit a tennis ball in that boat after were packed. Each year I seem to start gathering up items earlier than the year before. Looks like a lot of road work scheduled on 169 between tower and Ely. I guess there will also be a detour some place on that same route.

Actually I use more than 6 gal per day depending how far I travel on a given day. I don't fish every day since we loose the first day of arrival because of grocery shoping and unpacking the boat. When it's our last week we pack up on Friday so we loose that day also. Then more days are lost due to storms or high winds.

I'd say all and all I fish about 16 days while were there. On days when Borgie goes with me we don't fish as long. I don't want her to suffer from the dreaded "Burn Out Sindrome". Last year It was to hot and sunny with almost no wind. You never know what to expect from Mother Nature!
