I've been in contact with Randy's family over the past few days. He is currently in the hospital and was just admitted into the ICU. He's currently on a ventilator. Please keep Randy and his family in your thoughts and prayers! It's a tough time for them.

I'm sure you all know Randy. He's been here since MNO was born!

Hoping that Randy is able to overcome. Sorry to hear about this. I've had the good fortune of having quite a few communications with Randy back in the day. Never got a chance to meet him.

God bless he and his family.

Old Bonehead is a loving and protect full man of those dear to him Randy did an enormous amount of work and spent uncountable hours helping MNO get off the ground and keep it a decent place to be.
Can any one disclose exactly what his ailment is? if I would venture a guess it would be partly in cause of those damn cigarettes.

Within the last week Randy has been diagnosed with Kidney and Liver Cancer.

Right now he is experiencing Kidney failure and is not doing so well. He is in the ICU at Regions Hospital in St. Paul.

I've considered Randy a friend. I haven't seen in in over a year but he was great to myself and Lizzy when we were around him. I always enjoyed hanging out with him. My thoughts and prayers to go out to Randy and his family during this time. Here's to the tough guy recovering fine!!

Well, things are downhill again for good ol Randy. Its not loking too good at this point. Kidneys and Liver are failing and they are having trouble fighting the infection.

Randy has been pretty quiet here on the site for the past year or so. Before that he was one of most active members. Randy became a member, January 12, 2007, @ 01:15:27 PM. Since then Randy has made 4099 posts here on the site. During our most active days here in the site I used to be in contact with him daily. He genuinely cared about the site. Since the site has slowed and the updates to the layout etc have stopped Randy has faded away as well. He had a hunger for the site and always demanded involvement with the site and changes that we went through. He spent many hours in what he called his "man cave" plugging away on the site.

We can only hope that he pulls through this tough time. Doctors are saying it could be days... best case scenario a couple months.

Keep Randy, his Wife, Children amd Grandchildren in your thoughts and prayers. He's a good man!

If interested he is at Regions Hospital.

Thanks!

So sad to hear this. Randy was one of the founding members of the hunting message board I started 12 years ago that formed on the old DNR message boards. We were wondering why we haven't heard from him in a while. Thoughts and prayers go out to his family.

For those of you that do not know, Randy past away on Saturday at 3:24am.
Randy has lost his battle with liver cancer. He was 56 years old, and will be missed by many.

Please keep his family and friends in your prayers through this time of loss.

I spent many nights talking to Randy on the phone, talking mostly about this web site that he helped develop. We also had long conversations about his land, his family and his life experiences.
He was very loved by his friends and family, and I for one, am glad that I got to know him and call him my friend.

R.I.P BH

Your friend,
HD

I was apprehensive to open this up fearing the worst. Old Bonehead really deeply cared about MNO.
 Rest In Peace Randy.

I didn't know him and didn't have any interactions on the forum with him, but I always hate to hear about a fellow outdoorsman leaving us too soon.

My sympathies to his family and I hope they can reflect on the good times they had with him over the years.

I am so very sorry to hear this very sad news.
Boneheads daughter posted his funeral service
info on Facebook this morning. I dont know if any of
you remember me, but I use to be on MNO
quite a bit, back on the day and I knew Bonehead
really well. I feel bad, I hadn't talked to Bone in
quite sometime and I had no idea that he was even sick,
so it was quite a shock to say the least when I saw his
Daughters post today.

Even though we hadn't talked in quite sometime,
I considered Bonehead a good friend. We spent
MANY nights bs'n on MNO chat, he talked alot about
his family, he would light up when talking about his
kids and his grand daughter, he was very proud of them.
Sometimes during our chats, we had very
serious conversations about our lives, our families,
work, MNO, etc., other nights we would be just shootin'
the sh*t, having fun and a ton of joking around, laughing
so hard at all the fun stories we would tell each other and
and a few other MNO chat buddies. Bone loved his Man-Cave,
I will miss talking to him. He was just an all around good guy.
I'm thankful  for the fun memories, and my
my heart goes out to his family, he was way too young to go.

Bone, you left us too soon, but I hope when you got there,
that your man cave was fully stocked with some cold ones!
You will be missed by many, thanks for the memories.

I will miss you. XO!!! ~gg

That's just plain sad. I spent time in Randy's Man Cave. He had done some work on my wheeler and got it running top notch. Lizzy and I would go over there and visit with him, he always had her playing pinball. He loved kids and you could see him light up when she was with me. He was a great guy and will be missed.

My prayers for Randy and his family. I got to meet him and his wife once when they stopped at the State Fair. Just as nice a guy in person as he was online here and other places our paths crossed. It was Randy who convinced me to put my column here and I am grateful. May you rest in peace Randy.
