if you google federal dam campground, up pops leech lake damm rec area an you can make a reservation on line for a campsite.

3 month out is to far in advance for me to commit to but I did put it on the calendar and we have land about 20 min away and will be up there a lot this summer.  90% in. but no camping for me.

I hope to make it but cant promise anything at this point.  I may have to go to NC that week to help my daughter and grandsons get home as their Dad may be getting back from his deployment in mid June (USMC).

I asked momma.......and she's interested. haven't roughed it camping in years.

I am however confused. I did the ooggle google search on the federal dam campground. it appears its quite a large campground. is everyone on there own for campsites or is this gonna be setup as a group in one area???????

every one would be on their own for campsites, Ive looked for that weekend an it looks like there is alot available so if we book early we can all be in the general location of each other, Me an DAKIDS have a back up plan if it works out that way an things fall thru at the campsite.

  I was able to find out that they do have a marina but did not find out if you have to rent boat slips or not.  I am assuming you find that out when you make your reservations.  I launched by there once and they had a pay envelope box for parking at the launch.  I don't know if that was connected with the campground or not.

   That will be a big weekend for grad parties so the campground could be less crowded.  That's just a theory, not based on any first hand knowledge.  Anyone with a high school senior will either be having or be going to grad parties.  It works for me.

ok im reserved for friday an saturday night at Leech lake rec area campsite 32.
 lots of open sites in the 30's. Its not bad to navigate but have debit card handy, took me about 15 mnts, cause im slow. lol. DD, I have a number to call for that info, il try also, and for those that have any probs navigating the reservation site: 218-654-3145

ummmm I dont think your required to have a camper glen, the site accomodate up to the largest listed altho its a good question, not sure what to tell ya so call if you have a moment.. im sure the camper police wont mind.

I'll be last minute.  Our daughter won little miss of our town and lucky me I get to go to a whole bunch of parades this summer to pull the float.

No slips but there are spots to pull your boat up on shore and tie them off.  You can leave them tied off over night if you want to but they will be out of sight and things do get stolen.  We always put them on the trailers and parked them next to the tent.  If you rent a campsite you can use their private boat launch for free.  Otherwise its 3 bucks to launch.
