my usual group has fell into disarray for our elk trips. between divorce and cancer I don't think that group will ever be the same. been working a few angles for mule deer, but doubt they will pan out this year and even if they did.. most likely wouldn't be able to get a license.

so.. anyone planning any trips out of state this year for big game?

I hear ya. half the fun is a road trip with the guys.. some new scenery. and something different in the scope.

my brother is working a possible connection for a ranch out southwest SD for muley. but I'm not holding my breath on that one. I'm a little too far removed from his connection to get to piggy back in on it.

I wouldn't mind jumping in on an elk hunt.
I just need to know a ball park figure to see if it's doable....

I'm going to try and make it back to alaska for a sheep hunt but not sure if its going to happen.  An elk hunt I would be interested in!

Its on my bucket list but it will have to wait until kids are grown and out of the house.

Alaska sheep... wow. that's sounds like a interesting hunt.

elk has been fun .. still haven't bagged one.. seen em every trip.  next time around I'm thinking of a guided trip. use their equipment, and not have to worry about the logistics of packing it all in and out and setting up. maybe I'm just getting lazy.
