I have suggested this forum to a few different people and they have said they tried to join and have yet to hear back from anyone. Now I'm just going off what they have said and I have noticed new members popping up here and there. But these people are saying it has been days and they haven't heard anything. Just curious.

  I'm not sure...

The new member system is automated, so it kicks folks off if they have a bad IP, a bad user name or email account. Then if those are all good, they have to validate their e-mail before being able to join.

Let me ding around a bit when I get home and see if there are any errors. Was this just since the up-grade?

I checked all of the settings in the new members section, and they seem to be OK. But once I get home, I will try to create a bogus account and see what happens. It's all automated, so they should get a user agreement in the e-mail they provide, and activate from there.

IF...it still does not work, I can enter them manually. But, I believe they will still have to activate through a valid e-mail address.  ;)

I just looked it over as well... figured 4 eyes would be better than 2.

I'm seeing the same thing. Everything looks good. When you register you will get an email and you need to link through that to activate account.

Only thing I can figure is that those emails possibly ended up in their spam folder? Other than that I really do not have an answer because it seems to be working fine.

What can we do to help them?

If you want send me the username that they would like and their email and I can create the account for them.

Let me know. Thanks

OK, I created my wife an account. The part that really sucked was trying to read the letters and copy what they were in the box provided. Now, her user name came up as bad, and needed admin approval. And it said that she would be receiving an email back because of the user name error. Once I approved the name, she logged in just fine. So, like I said, if the user name is clean, the IP is clean, and the e-mail is valid and clean there should not be a problem. (Other than trying to read them scrambled letters)

Right now there is only one member that is waiting activation. They would have to activate through their e-mail account. I'm not sure if this is one of your friends.

Anaway....have them try again, then you give me their user name through a PM and I'll check to see what's up. Cause either way, the spam filter will catch them or the waiting activation will catch them if they can't get through. Then I will enter them manually.
