Hi ya fellas, sounds like everyone survived the festivities, good to hear. Ya I was  moving pretty slow earlier to but after our 2 mile walk and some fresh air I bounced back pretty fast. Really a nice day should be fishin, but I think half time I'll change the youngsters oil in her car then grab some more couch.   Later!

Mornin'! Not such good news to start the day. The dog (Fudgie) I wrote about a few weeks ago checked out overnight. Was a little afraid of that after I let her out last night for what would be the last time. She was suddenly stumbly and I had to go looking for her to get her to come back in. When she got inside she didn't dive into her food like she has been doing and the giveaway was she didn't want her treat. As recently as Saturday she was out watching the gates and wanted to be where the action was. Found her on the utility room floor a few feet from where she was last night. She had a good last several weeks though and not sorry I'd taken her to the vet to make that possible. She kept my Mom company for 10 years then was the best damn gate watcher I ever had.

Morning guys. Sorry for you loss, Dotch. 31 with a little light freezing drizzle now. It looks like we are going to miss out on most of the freezing rain they had in the forcast. :scratch: Some snow to the north of us so take it easy out there. Not much new going on here today so I'll putz around the house for a bit & get a few things together for heading north later in the week. Have a good 1

Ya sorry for your loss Dotch.  So nice that she went the way she did...   Pets can bring us so much joy but there is always going to be that sad day too.  Darn it....    Snowing here.  The wife went to the fish house with me yesterday afternoon.  Had a great time.  Listened to some Outlaw Country and caught some fish too.  She caught a 24" eelpout.  lol  It was great.  Glad she got him.  I was out starting the snowcat and came in and she was in full battle...   I like to eat them but we let it go since we had some saugers and walleyes to keep.

Morn'in folks, back at the grind today...10 hr shifts this week  :censored: so, since I'm salary I'll have to pull 12's and donate time. Oh well...

Made some foot long subs last night for me and the boy's lunches today....so at least I have that to look forward to.

Plowed 4" yesterday with the wheeler.  Have at least 6 on the ground now.  Maybe 8.  The wife was plowing snow with the Impala as she left this morning but she made it.  I could see the imprint from the bottom of her car all the way down the driveway.  Getting windy now.  Had some drifts on the south side of the buildings.  Cookie must have forgotten to do the "no snow dance" or else it doesn't work 40 miles away from Red.  Darn.  OK I have caught plenty of fish so now I am ready for some warm weather with no snow, just a nice mellow winter.  I bet this will be a pain for the resorts...

Morning fellers! Sorry about your loss Dotch. I think we are up to at least a foot of snow. In the shelter belts where the wind wasn't blowing I would have guessed 12 plus and they are forecasting another 3-6 inches yet today. Yes, this snow is not going to be good for the lake or resorts. The snow was already pushing water onto the ice before we got this snow. I can't imagine what it is going to be like now. I will have to get my house moved again soon. Measured 15" of ice Saturday. Cookie may have to double down on the no snow dance for the rest of the year. Have a good day all.

Mmmmm...those scallops sure sound good. Have a few in the freezer that need to be et. Never done them on the grill so that might be something to try. Also plenty of lamb that didn't make the grill last Sunday due to the rain and high winds. Got taters, baked beans, squash, mixed veggies, apple crisp and ice cream so we should manage to scrape something together. Tonic and lime supply is suspect so it needs replenishing. Gin supply appears to be adequate although I may head to HyVee to grab a liter on sale. Crucial to maintain the reserves in case there's company.  :happy1:

yep. I don't take the why bones out of nothing smaller then 4-5 lbs. I don't have issues picking bones.

the Y-bones go into the pickling batch!!!!!!!! having fresh nords tomorrow nite bones in!!!!!! well ok there 2 days old!!!!!

Hump day.  Looks like we have some days of cold here for awhile.  Got the thicker long johns on today.  Oh well, the days are getting longer so that is a positive thing....  Walleye sandwichs for lunch today....

Morning Boys and Girls. nice and crisp here this morning, we had -18 when we left for work this morning. We now have to much snow in my book. I wonder how much the water is pushing up on the ice now. Guessing I will need to move the fish house out of the donut hole this weekend. Looks like the cold is going to last for awhile. Hopefully that will keep the snow away then. Well, just another day in paradise. Have a good one.
