Well, WallaceMart sure was fun...$#@!. Place was packed at 9:00, a real first. The  fear mongers musta been swayed by the wedder morjits talking about the "impending sleet/snow storm" moving into the area on Sunday. Had to stock up on their milk, bread, and eggs.
Due to the fat, yapping women plugging up the aisles there while holding their kawfee klatch, I will now coin a new phrase for them, which I hope goes viral.

Well, I did see something about up to an inch of ice, although it was supposed to be south of us a short ways.

That's funny stuff reb! Morning fellers, man I wanna go fishing.  Back when I drove 1/2 ton pickups I never thought twice about the ice, I just went. I know 3/4 tons probably don't weigh  to much more but I've been gun shy on driving out, suppose to be a little warmer tomorrow maybe I'll walk out. Gotta gets some coffee and page through the outdoor news.  Have a good one gents!

High guys, we've got -6 to start. Looks like we're going to start a heatwave  as the 10 day looks really good. There's been a few out on the bay the last couple days. They started out with sleds on Wed- Thur but all were on their 4 wheelers yesterday. We spent some time on the road yesterday & there was a lot of traffic heading north. About every 3rd or 4th one was a wheelhouse,  most of the rest were pullin atv's/sleds & looked to pop up shelters. Hope you have a chance to enjoy the weekends weather. Have a good 1

On the way to Bemidji we saw lots of fish houses heading north.  The temp in the car said -39 just south of Kelliher.  Hoped for -40 but didn't happen.  When we go south all of the traffic is going north.  When we are on our way home after a weekend south of here all of the traffic is heading south.  Works good for us.  Well I feel sort of like one of the Tramps from Glenns woods today.  The morning after thing.  As I am waiting for my usual Dr. friend with the little fingers to come into the room in walks some other sort of cute petite Dr. woman.  For a few seconds I thought WHAT????   Then I just calmed down and took it like a man.  SHE was my new Dr.  At least she introduced herself and shook my hand.  Thank God she had little fingers too.  Well she slammed me up against the wall and did the prostrate thing to me.  I tired to act cool about it.  When it was all over she said I could start dressing.....   Thank God I didn't have to leave with my clothes still there....   SO I start dressing with her there.  Why not she has seen everything already, I mean everything....  Remember she also held the boys and made me cough too.  I was already almost dressed before she was out of the room.  lol  AND she didn't even wipe the lube off of me.  I had to do it myself.  How humiliating....  I did wait for her to leave before I did that clean up job though.  I guess I am just EASY!!!  Thanks for listening, I had to get that off my chest....

Had a float plane come in & pick up a neighbor from across the bay this fall. The 2nd place north of us comes from Chicago & they fly in once in a while.

Good morning folks, all these pics of people fishing has me getting a little jealous we've had a very warm and rainy winter, I would say probably only 4 inches of snow this year, last Wednesday it was almost 70 but we also got almost 2 inches of rain and the extended forecast is showing mid 40's to mid 50's and rain for the next ten days. The river was about 15 feet above normal so no fishing here. Today i think it'll be a seafood wild rice cassarole or stew for supper. Y'all have a good day and go Steelers.
if you kick me when I'm down you better pray I don't get up.

Man that river does look full Coffee.  Beautiful morning here +2 which is nice compared to what we have had.  Will go check out the fish house today after coffee.  Then have some Boars Canadian Bacon and eggs.  Can't wait.  Have to carry some firewood in the garage to today.  Maybe do some clean up plowing before the warm weather comes.  Supposed to be warm for a week the last I saw.  Hope it doesn't get too messy out on the ice.  I got Seattle wrong but the Pats gave me on right yesterday.  Today go Cowboys and Coffee's Steelers.

Beautiful morning. Awaiting the ice, sleet, snow pellets, snow, etc., but will enjoy today watching the Packers get beat!  :moon: No new lambs so looks like they waited for.the warm up.  :happy1:

Morning guys. We got 10 to start on our way to 30. A couple good games yesterday, even if the early 1 didn't end the way I wanted. Still not sure how he held on to the ball on the last sack. A fumble & Dallas ball, game was over. Going to get out :fishing: a couple times in the next few days before the warm weather comes & it has a chance to make a mess of the ice. Glad we don't have to deal with what's happening down home & southern Mn. Any of you that have to travel around the metro later today, take is easy. Sounds like Reb & del are in for some fun, my sister & BIL too. Hope you have a good 1

Morning fellers. We had 6 above this morning. With the warm weather coming it should settle the snow down some. Went for a snowmobile ride Saturday. Put on right around a 100 miles. Trails were in decent shape. Found out the hard way that the registration on the wife's sled was expired. Luckily the CO just gave me a warning. When we stopped in Baudette I went online and purchased them so that we didn't have to worry the rest of the day. Fished for awhile yesterday, then moved the house about 3:30. The water was pushing up and starting to touch the frame. So I figured better put it on a fresh spot for next weekend. Well, back to paradise. Have a good one fellers.
Hey look your bobber is up!

Well, my week of single-parenthood begins today.  My wife is a chaperone for a 4H youth leadership group trip to Washington DC for the entire week - which will end in her getting to witness the 45th Presidential Inauguration in-person.  She's not a tremendously political person but is excited for the chance to witness history. While I mostly refrain from stating my opinions online - I'm a bit of a political geek and a MAJOR US History geek.  I'd love to be able to go with - I guess I'll just have to admire her pictures and stories.  Would be lying if I said I wasn't a little concerned with all the crazies and there's no way to avoid large crowds, etc . I've just told her to keep her head up and always have a plan, leave herself an out, etc.  A little tougher when you're responsible for 20+ kids, though.  I forget what federal association is sponsoring the trip, but apparently there's a chance that president makes a stop a the gala that they get to go to.  Cool stuff!  She may come back a big admirer of the Don!
