Morning, ya it is a pain to type on phones....   Well I talked to a buddy yesterday about the ice by Long Point.  He was up there and still had his wheel house on the ice up there.  He and a friend were in his house and there was 30" of good hard ice.  All of a sudden he said there was a loud bang and his house started moving up and down.  lol  Of course they both stood up and looked out the window.  Just then a loud groaning started and lasted for a while....   As they were looking outside his pickup was bobbing up and down as if it was on a floating slab of ice.  He said now there were open cracks around the area.  They guy from Long Point said to get the houses off the ice, don't wait for tomorrow.   tut_tut-3315.gif  THEY DID!!!         Well we didn't do our corned beef and cabbage last night.  We decided to wait till today and take our time and enjoy it more.  Also I am going to go in and buy some more cabbages and make sauerkraut.  I think it was Glenn that has made it before.  I will do a couple of qt canning jars of it so think it was 2 cabbages per jar.  I will look in the archives for the thread on it.  As we  speak I am heating up some honey since it started to solidify.  I buy it from the local honey guy.  He said the stuff in the stores has been pasteurized so has lost most of the healthy benefits of honey.  The raw honey is the healthy stuff so I buy it by the gallon from him.  It is 16 here with snow flakes in the air.  Have a great Sat.

LPS............IF YOUR GOING TO TURN 2 FULL HEADS OF CABBAGE INTO KRAUT in qt jars................your gonna have way more then 2 qts..................more like 8!!!!!!!!

1 head of cabbage will fill 4 qt jars???  These are heads from the grocery store not huge ones from the garden you know....

well made it back from the decoy show. managed only to spend 20 bucks on raffle tickets. hand some way cool stuff there.......and no I wasn't talkin about Mikey!!!!!!! just wasn't quiet what I was looking for, for my collection. the one I might have gone with was 225 bucks.............wasn't happening.

oh and yep met up with Mikey.............what a cool guy and oh is he a  'er!!!!!!!! nice meeting yea MIKE!!!!!!!!!!!

well offto get some stuff accomplished around home, then off for a few  and burger down at a local pub later!!!!!!!!

I am all in in that Jeff.  Whatever it is.  But a comfortable motel with a bar and steak house really peaks my interest so the party is at one place and no driving is involved.

Up and at 'em guys! A frosty 30* here with a pink-streaked sky.....bodes for a bit of moisture later. No plans for the day, got some 'tater salad for supper and picked up a pkg of Schweigert "Twins Dogs". Looks like weenies, 'tater salad, and chips for dinner. Have a good one, guys.

Cloudy and windy as all get out here.  32 now and supposed to get to around 50.  Kind of hard to believe.  The corned beef was a little tough but tasted good.  For reubens may have to slice it thin and cook it some more??? Or just bake the whole thing for another hour.  Cleaned the garage up some yesterday.  Thought we would have a fire today but this wind may change that idea.  Might have to go pick up some ribs and fire up the smoker.  Just seems the thing to do on Sundays..

Mornin, decided that I don't have time to smome anything, so I made a mix for patties on the grill, I had half a batch of owens red barn baloney mix, and a shacker of gourmea burger seasoning, add two cups chopped pickled jalopenos and 2 cups high temp cheaddar, gonna borrow my buddies pattie maker and make some grillin patties.

they have several shows around the state. I think, from what I heard the one is perham is the biggest, there is one in grand rapids, and little falls along with Alex. the show yesterday in alex was good!!!!!!!
