Well it's not morning but anyway.  I've been away lately.  My mom who is 90 is in the hospital and has the flu.  She is a stubborn German and does't want visitors [that's her thing when she gets sick].  It takes a lot for her to go in the hospital.  Trying to get them into a place for care but they don't want any part of that.  Stubborn Germans.  After so many years it's hard to leave their home.  As long as they can do it I'm all for it.  good luck.

Going thru EXACTLY that right now, RH!!! Except Mom isn't in a hospital.... but has Alzheimers, and she's also 90. Social Services wants to get them (Her and her $#@!% husband) into a care facility in the next couple months, and need to appoint a guardian/ Conservator. I'm the only kid, so..... :banghead:  Becasue of her husband, I hadn't seen her for over a year, missed her terribly, until a totally weird event the other night. She comes from a pure German family...The Schwarz's, and she had five brothers. This is gonna be a real blast.
I hope your Mom gets better quick and all goes well. She sounds just like my Mom! "Get outta here and leave me alone!!!" "I can do it myself!!"  :doah:

Ya Reb,  I'm not going to be that stubborn German.  One way or another it's going to be assisted living.  We are taking care of my wife's 92 year old mom.  My mom said she wan't to live with me after my dad dies.  I said ok.  So I can see why she is stubborn.  She doesn't want to go first.  I get that.  Married since 1946.  good luck.

I know what you are going through, Reinhard.   My father, Reinhart, lived on the farm until he was 95.  Due to much help from my brother, he only spent the last three months in a assisted living place.

Morning you guys.  I lost the who can pretend to sleep battle today.  The dogs came to my side of the bed and started wagging their tails against the door so I got up and fed them.  It is -27 here.  The last couple of days they can't hardly do their jobs outside cuz their feet are so cold.  Ever see a dog try to pick up two feet at once.  It is sad and funny at the same time.  Sammy just finally sat down.  The wife got some little socks we put on them last night and it worked good.  Now they stand waiting for them before they go out.  Sounds like our New Years at home with all of your Hors de Ouveries  you guys.  My Dad always had pickled pigs feet also.  Rebs yours sounds awesome.  We will have treats all day and watch movies I suppose.  AND stay inside.  Oh ya HAPPY NEW YEARS from us on the Canadian Border!!!   Hey I just said Happy New Years to the wife as she came into the office and she laughed and said "that's not till tomorrow".  LOL

Mornin boys, you're the hot spot Reb's  as we had -11 when I 1st looked. Still got -30 WC as we've got that steady 10 + mph NW winds still goin. It was fun watchin the Big 10 win another bowl game last night, so now they're 7-0. No big plans for today, probably just more football. Our favorite waterin hole is opening up mid afternoon, so we may slip down there for a couple, might not too, we'll see. Pullin for the Saints & Falcons today as I don't want Cam's bunch to win that division. Be safe, stay warm, & have a good New Years Eve everyone.

Have a safe and great New Year!!  Must be getting older.  Prolonged cold is starting to get to me.  I remember as a kid up in Duluth fishing in 20 below temps and no fish house then.  I"ve got some prime rib left over so I'm going to make some stroganoff with that tonight.  Keeping it simple.  Stay warm and safe everyone.  good luck.

Best wishes for a Happy New Year to everyone.  I think I stayed awake till about 9:30 last night.  The idiot down the street woke me up at midnight with an impressive array of ordnance including a red military grade parachute flare that lit up the whole neighborhood.  Last year he lit something up and threw it in an old galvanized garbage can, and it was so powerful, he blew up the garbage can and put a big hole in the side of his aluminum pre-fabbed shed.  He got a little visit from the local constables over that one.  I'm glad there's a few houses between him and us.

Happy New Year to all of you.  It is -22 here. Glad we can stay home today. I turned on golf just so I could see warm weather for awhile.  Looks great.  It is in Shanghai.       So we are doing CS Ribs and the wife makes a great Chicken Wild Rice soup.  That will feed us for the week.  Feels great to have a Vikes win yesterday.

Sounds great Rebs.  Years ago we ate at a Chinese Buffet and I took some shrimp and some green stuff thinking it was a guacamole sauce.  I dipped a shrimp in and got as big of gob on it as I could and stuffed the whole thing in my mouth.  I almost died.  People were all over and right next to us so I had to swallow it.  My eyes still water just thinking about it.  The wife started laughing and said that stuff is hot.....  Thanks honey....   :rotflmao: :rotflmao: :rotflmao:  I am very careful with green stuff now.  I always ask what it is..

Have a great new year today.  11 below here now and a big heat wave coming tomorrow up to 16 the global warmers say.  Going to make some steaks today with a baked potato and some mushrooms.  Nice to see the Vikings win yesterday.  They get 2 weeks off and then it's off to the super bowl.  good luck.
