An excerpt from our daily paper...if this continues, I shall consider withdrawing my support for the SA...... ;D

(Post Bulletin)

Bella Bryant, who was eating dinner along with a few friends, made her first trip to the Salvation Army for the  Thanksgiving meal. While she was thankful for the meal and all the people who could gather for Thanksgiving, she said, the green bean casserole was the real highlight. "It's fantastic," she said.

I dunno Reb. I had some green bean casserole that was purrrttyy good!  :happy1: The wife prolly won't make any Saturday night when it's time to generate Thanks giving leftovers. I do wish the sun would shine though. These stretches of cloudy days make me lethargic and drowsy. I fell asleep after supper last night when Mrs. Cheviot had one of them Hallmark movies on. Let's see, girl has boyfriend, ditches him, then pines for another one who shows up out of nowhere and saves the family business from financial ruin. See? I could write those dumb things in my sleep!  :coffee:

Kinda in a holding pattern to see if it will dry off enough for chit hauling to commence. That or for the ground to freeze so it carries better and doesn't track so much mud. Spreading on the neighbor's ground so don't think he'd be real impressed with some nasty ruts.

The eggs were a hit.  I would do those again.  The three pies and the tart went to St Paul to Thanksgiving with the family.

I spent yesterday working at Lake Rebecca State Park.  We (MDHA) help support a youth mentored hunt.  Thirteen youths that attended our Forkhorn camp at Three Rivers Park this summer were selected to participate in the hunt.  I helped put up a number of ladder stands in the morning.  Following lunch and words of wisdom from the organizer, the kids and there mentors headed out around 2 PM.  Although no deer were killed, by days end 7 of the 13 had seen deer and 4 had taken shots but all missed.
The hunt will continue all day on Saturday and till noon on Sunday.

This guy had a good Black Friday ... :happy1:

Angler Lands 56-inch Muskie on Mille Lacs

November 25, 2016 03:13 PM

While you were out doing your Black Friday shopping, Marshall Hopp of Valley City, North Dakota was busy reeling in this 56-inch long monster muskie on Mille Lacs.

He landed this big fish around 12:30 p.m. Friday on the southeast side of the lake.

He was trolling crank baits when he got the hit.

Hopp says this is the by far the biggest muskie he's reeled in.

He did bring in a 63-inch sturgeon a while back.

Got the sheep home from the offsite pasture and unloaded the ewes. Left the ram in the trailer for now where he's been using the spare tire as a punching bag. Tried to hit me a couple times but with my cat-like reflexes I was able to out maneuver him. Rehydrating quick then going back outside to tear into 'er. Bale feeders & grain toughs to move, put the bale spear on the tractor, stick a bale in the feedlot, water tank to clean out and fill. Than it should be time to break for chores. No rest for the wicked. :bonk:

I just finished battling the crowds at Menardo's. Wasn't too bad. I went in to pick up some new cover plates for my light switches and new sockets that I was meaning to swap out after the downstairs remodel. Kept forgetting. Also broke the turn knob off my favorite lamp last nite....figgered haveta put in a new three-way socket and switch. Dang. On the off-chance, asked the dude in electrical if they have new screw on knobs for lamp switches...."Yup, right here". I be danged! Two knobs and two threaded adapter sleeves. .99 cents. Knob screwed right on. Lucky for once. Somehow, in with the switch covers and knob kit and other stuff I needed, there was a bag of Hershey's Christmas Kisses. I must speak to Menardo's mgmnt about sneaking items into my bag. Lunchtime!  ;)

Back at home.  Had a great time at the brothers with Mom and Dad and other brother.  Sister couldn't make it.  Lot's of Mannys had and lots of their homemade wine.  Very good stuff.  Damn on the Vikes game.  Son of a gun anyhow.  That's as nice as I can put it.  Have some projects I should do now so am trying to get motivated.  We will see how that works...   First is to clean up the smoker for some ribs tomorrow.  39 here and the boat is not in the water.  That is my fault.  I should kick my own ass.

You ain't mixed one up yet Glenn, well here ya go, hopefully you like e @ j coke. Atta boy reb, that's just my luck too, usually an easy fix turns into a struggleathon.  You have any issues with coyotes and them sheep dotch? I have a buddy in Iowa that has a Lotta sheep and he loses one  now and then to them thieves. Man what a nice day, put all the patio furniture away yesterday, might just yank it back out. But then again I shoulda been following the pooch chasing birds today.

Had a few ditch chickens in the backyard yesterday. Haven't had issues with coyotes, yet. We use electric fence on everything so that helps. Have had more issues with stray dogs and people thinking since they live in the country it's OK to let them run.

Morning guys, back in Ia now. Had 52 on the car comin home about 2 yesterday. More of the same for today & tomorrow with a chance of rain tonight into tomorrow. Hit FF in Rochester for a bit on Friday & not a shopping cart to be had at that time(9-9:30). The traffic was nuts, we hit 2-3 places & were headed home by noon. Yeah LPS that penalty on Patterson was , then Bradford's Int on the next play  :censored:. Game over.

28* degrees here with heavy fog and frost...wedder site says "freezing fog"...so I guess we are having our first Pogonip...that's todays word. Looks plain spooky out with the fog and frost on everything...enjoy yer day.  ;)

Did You Know?
Readers of The Old Farmer's Almanac might recognize the odd-sounding warning, "Beware the pogonip!" So what's a pogonip? In the mountains of the western United States, the fog condenses into tiny, biting ice particles in extremely cold weather. The English-speaking settlers who encountered this unpleasant and sometimes scary phenomenon when they went out West in the 1800s needed a word for it. They borrowed "payinappih" ("cloud") from Shoshone, altering it to "pogonip." The Shoshone believed inhaling it would damage the lungs and was caused by bad spirits.

Foggy froggy pogonippy here today.  27 out.  I fixed my Daniel Boone grill yesterday and so had to put something on to test it.  Man it was nice out too.  Well here comes my neighbor and anchors by my dock.  (remember boat is out of the water)  He starts catching fish like crazy.  Some little ones he had to let go but had some keepers too.  I was stuck at the grill.  Darn.  Well I have the boat in the garage and todays main focus is on getting it cleaned up and tarped for winter.  Then I can get my work truck back in the garage.  So nice to not have frosty windows in the morning.  Going to do some baby backs this afternoon.  Have them rubbed since last night.  Ya Gunner we went to FF at Fergus Falls on Friday.  Man it was hard to get around.  I went down aisles I didn't even want to just trying to maneuver around people.  Not much situational awareness there.  Kind of like Walmart on a busy day.  People just stop in the middle of a busy aisle and start talking and blocking all of the traffic.  I can't help but to look at people like that and wonder what goes on in their heads.  If anything.  Oh well.  I am just thankful Rebs wasn't with me.  He may have lost it...   :rotflmao:  Time for more java...
