Took some time off from fishing and splitting firewood to do some mushroom hunting.   Picked about 20 pounds and left several hundred pounds on the trees.  I love the smell of liquorice.

What kind of trees do these grow on?  :scratch:
Dead poplar.  When you cut them off the tree they smell like liquorice
Anything that is free is worth saving up for.

UMM wit da gee there I dont know how to take that post. Was I to undescriptive??,I learned from a old poor german woman who picked our yard in the 50s dont know all but lots of edibles were pointed out and some she said you dont want that one! Poisonious or not I dont know she just said take these avoid the rest.There are some tasty ones out there!! In yer area open areas may put out a Meadow mushroom wit pink gills Their so tasty!! Wish and maybesome day I'll stop by late summer early fall when the easiest best shroomin happens! springs is mostly greens an morels,Which I missed again this year!!!!!!!

Man what a nice looking bird.  I want to do more of the mushroom thing.  Those on the trees look easier to find.
