A couple of these houses that mama bought, are mounted to old porch spindles and the roof is not removable. Should I  scrap the houses and buy some that can be removed?

take a clothes hanger apart and bend one end in a form of a u.......or in otherwords a hook. you should be able to pull most the stuff out with that. it may take a bit of patience. but then again you do fish with the general so I assume you have plenty of that!!!!!!!!

Cut the tops off,use small hinge on one side and a hasp or latch on the other.
