Lately I've noticed unusual activity in our bird feeder area. There's been a tiny sparrow with a reddish brown patch on it's head. Every day it's feeding fallen bird seed to a bird over twice it's size. I told Borgie that it may be a cow bird even though I've never seen one.

I looked it up on the internet and sure enough I found a photo showing the exact same two species in action. Anyone else ever experience this happening. The cow bird is fully capable of feeding it's self but, the smaller bird works it's :moon: off feeding this giant. :doah:

Yup, I believe cow birds lay their eggs in other birds nests so the other birds think that they are their offspring. Kinda like the welfare system in Minnesota.....  :rotflmao:

Had the same thing in our yard this summer.  Cow birds do lay an egg in other bird's nest and then that bird incubates and raises the baby.

Birds don't wear hats. They'd fall off in flight.

Sounds like you should shoot the lazy one.  However the other one must not be to smart so maybe 2 birds with one stone (shotgun shell).
