vinegar helps marinate and break down the muscles...
:scratch: i see. come to think of it i have a korean reciepe that has vinegar in it i use to marinade vension for the grill.

i had heard it was a health nut thing.  with the pickled fish, pickles, horseradish i think i get enough vinegar in my system!!!! :happy1: although its not the apple cider stuff!!!!

This cold weather has me makin goulash,chili and yesterday a big ole chuck pot roast with a pre maid bag of pot roast veggies from the produce section,for some reason I got lazy and normally do pot roast in a bag but decided to try the dutch oven method after brown the roast first,turned out terrible,dried out chunk of beef,veggies were good,might try adding some ajus and warm it up again tonight,otherwise another goulash left over night.

only way for a roast, in a roaster pan, with water, bag of lipton onion soup mix onions a bay leaf. bake till tender.

add water from boiled taters, make gravy..pig out!!!!! :happy1: here anyway!!!!!

Going easy peasy tonight.  Homemade tomato basil soup with this rustic oven bread ma's been buying, really crunchy and tasty!! Oh yeah,  that looks fabulous lps and coop!!

LPS,re-your ribs,that's what I call "bark"...bet the flavor was outstanding...

crap canned the pot roast for anther day or when moochie friends stop over for a snack,after they have a few brews,they'll choke down anything and say its the best they ever had,kinda puff's a guy up.

well for lunch today I grilled up a few italian brats, and sliced them up and added them to a tomato basil pasta and also added a few italian meat balls too!! smells good as it's simmering away for a few more minutes!!!

No you already talked me into one so the wife got me one for Christmas last year.  I have used it a few times and really like it.  Just haven't done a chunk of cheap beef to see how it turns out.  What do you recommend Del?

Depends on what you like.   I have done chuck to make fake prime rib, or eye of round to make nice tender deli style sandwich meat.    Both are really good, but different...   

I might do the chuck as a first shot..

So for supper tonight we did LPS'S meatballs and provolone sammiches. Instead of marinara sauce, since we had pizza sauce we used that. We will do that again.  :happy1: threw that on cold spring bakery wheat brat buns.

Was a big leary about the meatballs we had but they were good. Ma and I decided next time it will be italian meatballs.
