the deviled egg tator salad is good

That's what I had. Best is the chive'n egg made in store at Hy-Vee, home of the rip-off, from their deli. But, not for $6.99 lb. That store is insane.

I will buy the tubs in the dairy area, Reser's and Mrs. Gerry's....

I can eat that stuff, but NOT any deli type coleslaw. Gotta buy the bag of coleslaw mix and a jar of Jimmy's coleslaw dressing and make it myself.

The deli for one certain kind....then usually add chives and a bit of mustard to it. 99% of bought tater salad is crap.

I just can't get myself to buy Deli salads anymore.  A friend of mine said his wife worked in the Deli at a major grocery store in Blaine, I can't remember which one.  She said they wouldn't let her throw out the old stuff and just made her mix it in with the new stuff.  She quit.  I just can't get that out of my head now.  When I see it in stores with a pellical on it like on our bacon slabs waiting for the smoker I gag...

Whenever my dad goes to a restaurant and gets served white rice - even if he isn't going to eat it - he still splashes it with soy sauce so they can't recycle it and serve it to the next customer.

No one would do that, would they?    :tut::confused:

You know the pellicle or how ever it is spelled.  It is the dried sort of film that occurs on meat during the overnight sit as it is waiting to be smoked.  I see that dried look to the salads in deli cases.

Rice is so cheap it wouldn't be worth recycling and risking the whole enterprise.

Now moo goo gai cat is another story.

Some call it chicken fried.....some call it country fried.......
It's steak, or chops fried in a pan with breading, or some kind of batter.....

They were from a big 2lb package of coarse ground old fashioned ones from my butcher buddy. The small pk of them I grabbed the other day was outdated, so I returned them. Seems Schweigert guy was not pulling his old stock...so my buddy gave me a new big pack..."Merry Christmas".
