I was trying to come up with something for supper, digging around in the cupboard, and found a box of Potato stroganoff hamburger whelper. Musta been left over from a couple I picked up this fall for emergency I-don't-feel-like-fancy-cooking days. I'll toss some spices in there and whatever else seems good and hopefully it'll be a tad better than Gravy Train.  ;)

oh geeze....I feel for ya Reb....any kinda "helper" in the box, is a bad thing.
It's one of those things on the list that I had to eat a lot of when I was young and poor.
I remember, standing in line at the cheese truck and a guy at the end of the line trying to give boxes upon boxes of that stuff away, and nobody would take it....

After awhile...the tuna helper tasted like the hamburger helper...you couldn't tell the difference...

Barry, as a "young bachelor", we'd all eat anything resembling food.  :azn:  But, no way would I ever TOUCH anything called "Tuna Helper"... :puke:  The hamburger helper crunchy taco is pretty danged good, though, especially rolled up in a flour tortilla. (My "portable hotdish") Like that Dinty Moore beef stew in a can my fishin' buddy used to LOVE....ahhh gawd!~  *ack*
Just with all the stuff going on right now, I don't have much of an appetite. Maybe I'll lose some weight....

Got the potatoes stroke'n off whelper bubbling away, and some yellow and white supersweet corn ready to heat up. Added half an onyum, some chopped chives, and black pepper to the whelper. Got a mini-cheese bread loaf, too. Should be nice and warmed up after eating that. Just got done shovelin' another 1 1/2" snow and gabbin' with the new neighbor. That north wind is brutal. Not a day to be standing out after dark yappin'.  Me ears is friz.

Well, that was great...might haveta lick my butt to get the taste outta my mouth. Should be served in an elementary school cafeteria as something like "winter casserole" or "Hoarfrost hotdish". I don't think my skwirrels would even eat this crap. Never again!   :puke:

I still eat a can of Dinty Moore a couple of times a year.  Used to think that stuff was gourmet in a can.  Now I put lots of salt and pepper on it and it is not as good as I used to think it was.  I do love stroganoff though.  I have a chuck roast out to make a pot roast later today.  Big carrots, celery, onions, Lipton onion soup pkg on top of all of it.

I sort of forget about the lipton soup mix... I need to get it out next time.   I could mix genres and put lipton onion soup on a sous vide chuck roast...

You can make yer own mix for roasts like I do....a BIT of seasoned salt, dried chopped onions, (Which I always have on hand anyway) bit of onion powder, and some powdered beef bouillon. I keep a small zip-loc bag of it on hand. Viola! Better than the soup mix!  :azn:

We cooked a pork tenderloin in the copper chef, pulled it and added some Svens BBQ sauce & beer...cooked it down. Put it on a potato bun with some Bongards cheese. Steamed some California vegetables in the microwave, and cooked some tator tots in the oven with some pink mineral salt (wife's new kick)...

Ta da.... dinner is served
