Took my youngest daughter out. She did much better than the youth day 2 weeks ago.  It helped that we had the decoys out and I worked the call.  She got 2 woodies, a pintail, 2 mallards, a ring bill, and a teal.   I might have shot a mallard and pintail, but she got all the rest as I put the gun down and just watched the show.

We didn't see the numbers we seen last year. I got one wood duck. And another guy I was with got a wood duck. Went Sunday to and it was awful. Seen a lot of mallards today, but nothing would decoy or even buzz the decoys. Teal were pretty much non existent for use, which is a lot of our shooting usually on opening weekend

Talked to the forestry guy at the access that was doing the duck counts and he said one group had 29 teal and nothing else.  We were hunting between a HUGE swamp loaded with wild rice and the Mississippi river.  Didn't get any big flocks to decoy.  Most were singles.  Lots of shooting.
