I understand, that the company that sells the stand, to have a certain obligation to provide safety while using their stand....but, com'on....there has to be a better way!  Every time I go out to hook this thing up, there is a learning curve...but, geeze...it's a bugger!

Anybody else found something better other than paying a arm and a leg for safety?

Those things suck. I just throw them in the trash. I have a vest(only wear it in my hang on stands or my climbers) I bought it on sale(60$) super comfy and easy to use(seat belt like clips) I don't it in my ladder stands(have rail around myself in ladder stands) I use a pull rope for all of my gear so don't have anything in my hand while climbing or descending.

I sure wouldn't want to fall out of anything wearing that contraption HD.  That looks like a bad joke about to happen.  Hopefully one has already gone through his child producing years before the fall.   ;)  I have a tree stand I don't know if I will ever use again.  Maybe but I just use a ladder stand with the railing now.  Great to rest the crossbow or a gun on and I feel comfortable in it.

Yup LPS, they ain't comfortable. That's why I'm looking for a good vest at a decent price. I have some gander gift cards to use up, but I'm not sure what brand to buy.

Sorry HD I didn't see the post until now. I went onto ganders site to check on it for you. I found something very similar to what I have.(only difference is the leg clips)
