We stopped excepting deer around 3 o'clock. Coolers are full, and we skinned deer till 11 last night.

The boy scored a doe! We are having a GREAT season!

These two were fighting in front of my wife's stand 45 minutes into the season.  After shooting the first one and the second one just stood there, she couldn't resist filling my tag too. :happy1:

The neighbor down the road got a nice wide 10. We filled 1 doe tag.  I passed on a basket 6 and 3 does hoping they would continue their way down the trail to my parents and kids.  They never got a good shot so they didn't shoot.

Here is the neighbors 10.

Congrats to all the successful hunters.  I got lucky too.  A nice 8 pt. stepped out on the ATV trail I was watch at first light Sunday.  The old Savage 99 freezer trained him in one shot.  He fell dead in his tracks.  While I was gutting him out, another deer kept bouncing around just out of signt snorting up a storm.  I had him into the processors by 9 a.m. and they had all ready taken in over 100 deer on Saturday, and another 15 before mine came in Sunday, and that was only at 9 a.m.  I'm guessing everyone who owns a knife is up to their eyebrows in deer to butcher with this warm weather.

I've seen nothing but small does all weekend. No bucks so far. Haven't even seen one yet. Had a good sized doe come out early and start running across the hay field. Looked for a buck and nothing was following her so
Got her to stop and let the 30-06 do its job

We didn't shoot anything.  We were being really picky due to the heat and all.  We saw many does and fawns and lots of forks, big 6's and some ok 8 pointers but no shots at a really big one.  My brother in law had a big one go by but as he put it "I wasn't ready"....  Common for him.  My son saw a big one out by an island but it never stopped running around and too far to risk a shot.  There's a nice 8 pt and a doe with two fawns hanging around the cabin.  We are saving them for my grandson who will be on his first deer hunt this coming week end.  Neighbors got some big ones, 8, 11 and 15 pointers so they are around.

Saw 2 fawns and 3 bucks last weekend, a small small 8, a slightly better 8, and a decent 8 pointer that doesn't quite make the criteria as old as I am now. To my knowledge all the big boys are alive, got a 6 1/2 year old buck and that's a guess but the oldest looking buck I've ever seen on my trailcams. He is 13 points and non-typical and dress weight is going to be in that 220-250 range. Dozens of pictures of him almost nightly, 1 in legal light November 1st but I had no idea until I grabbed the camera Sunday night so I'll be putting all my time in on that 1 stand and not driving north to hunt this weekend plus there's a real bruiser 8 that'll dress at or over 200 so man I should've checked that camera Friday, daing. Asked neighbors Monday and none had a buck down yet so that's huge in a way. Jim Carey, so you're saying there's a chance and this is zone 1, barely by a mile. Good Luck guys pray for a hot doe.

Short night tonight, we are currently at 420 deer processed and still have another whole week for zone 1. I believe this will be a record breaking year for harvest.

Literally, up to my knees in blood.....  ;)

Got one on a friend tonight at deer camp. He called and asked........river stand or the scrapes stand ? Said any bucks running does he said not much not really so I said scrape stand, he went river this morning, 10:30AM grabs the scrape stand tcam and you bet the nice 10 pointer he's praying for was pawing his scrapes at 8:11AM lol. Needless to say he's a bit down on himself lol. Said if those scrapes are getting hit yet keep waiting on him to come check em or re-work them, so idk what happened or why he even called lol.

Wow great results by you guy's.  I hunted in 180 about 50 miles north of Duluth.  Our temps were 70 degrees there and slightly cooler Monday and Tuesday.  My trail cam was full of deer plus two huge bucks.  We seen some small does which we didn't try for [yearlings].  One larger doe but didn't want to take a shot with her body in the brush.  They just bedded down during the day.  Thought maybe the bucks would be horny and push deer around but they must not of had their viagra.

As usual we all had a great time and ate well.  All of us say that is the important thing and deer are the bonus.  I will go up there during the last week and hopefully colder.  Never had good results on warm or windy day's, but that's just us. Wish I was still there.  good luck.
