Looks like a great spot.  You should have a nice view from that stand.

The floor is complete.
Here are the views so far....
The heavy wooded area is directly behind the stand to the Northwest.

And bolt the machine gun swivel to the floor.   Great view from up there!! Maybe ya can even add a zip line for quick exits! Just try it with a smurf first, as required by OSHA.  :rotflmao:

The hot tub and beer cooler will be air lifted soon...

Reb, I take a fence post (6ft steel) and drive it into the ground next to the base boards. Then drill through them both & bolt together.

There is some truth to that Glenn.
This swamp has anywhere from shin deep to knee deep on a average year.

But it has gotten up to crotch deep at times.

HD I'm sure you know your land well by now. One thing that I have found useful when hunting swampy or wet areas. Is to bring it up on Goggle Earth and if the fall picture is up without all the green, a lot of times you can get a close enough picture to actually see where the Deer trails are coming and going from high land to high land. Good way to do some scouting for new stand placements without getting wet.  :happy1:

Leech~~yup, I have had this crazy plan in the back of my skull for a long time. This island of trees, is located on the edge of 500 acres of swamp. 40 of that is my property. I have done the Google map, and did notice the trails going into this area. More importantly, when the swamp is frozen, I have kicked a lot of deer out of there doing deer drives. With "global warming" the swamp has not frozen during deer season....But, I'm not getting younger and felt I should get this done now.

So, yes Glenn... I will be out in the swamp this weekend.

LPS, I'll take a picture of the anchors today.
I will be doing that, and building the ladder today.

Maynerds has another 11% sale starting tomorrow, so I will be picking up the lumber for the walls then.

The ground is to frozen to pound in the anchor posts, I'll have to do that at a later date.

I did get the ladder built before the batteries died.

It will have power Gunner, a friend gave me a solar panel. I'm not sure how much, but should be enough to run a light or 2
