Muzzy Season?

quite few factors can lead to yur inaccuracy,  a pitted barrel from powder fouling, thats a huge factor, those that that dont clean their barrel after every range time or hunting season, the powder fouling will carrode the barrel, a common area of this is near the breach wher the ignition occures.  after every shot at the range, i swab my barrel to keep from residue build up which helps in bullet seatting and accuracy.

if ur barrel is pitted anyplace with in it, youll never get a curacy, how many pellets are yu useing. if used 3 pellets before and that has cause extream inaccuracy due to tumbling of the bullet, to much powder.

2 pellets, always been cleaned after every round of shooting. Before storing, totally dismantled, oiled and cleaned. No more than 75 rounds out of this gun. Never had a good pattern.

is it like way off every time? or are you at least in the pie plate at 50. you could try and go with pwder form and maybe a different bullet. every smoke pole is different, much different than a riffle, some times it take a lot of experimenting to find out what shoots thru the pole.

Yup, on a pie plate at 50 yards.
Tried different bullets, and powder.
Same results..... just figured it was, the way it was.
I just don't shoot over 50 yards.

yup then id get rid of it, ive no prob shootin and hitting a deer at a hundy.Id trade it off

Even had it clamped in a lead sled target shooting... cause I thought maybe it was me... nope, same results.

 I found my CVA Optima shooting two pellets of 777 with a 245 gr. slug grouped quite well. I did notice that while I was shooting with the fixed sights it was two inches low at 50 yards with the rear sight all the way to the top. This was also the case with two of my co-workers. There is a Simmons Atec mounted on my 50 now and I'm very comfortable shooting it up to 100 yards now.
 By the way, I didn't see a thing this weekend, the brother-in-law looked at five (a couple of big deer) Saturday afternoon and passed on them. They were 60 yards into the neighbors clear-cut.

The South Dakota Muzzle Loader season opened Dec. 1st and runs thru the entire month of December. It has been so warm here in the Black Hills I am waiting until we get a little cooler weather before I hit the woods for my first ever ML hunt. My son and I went to the range today and shot our muzzy again are ready for our hunt. Wish us luck!
