So....last winter, we had NO finches stay around the house for the winter (I filled a thistle feeder, and it stayed full all winter long)

This winter, I have finches everywhere...so much that I added a 2nd finch feeder....
The question is....

Do you feed thistle all winter long?

The reason I'm asking is that, I went to Maynerds...and all they have is REALLY small bags of thistle, at a HUGE price....
Or a different type of finch food (looks like mustard seed & a little thistle) still at a high price.
Which takes a different feeder (I did buy one) and, they don't seem to like it as much.....

Yup, that's the expensive stuff I'm talking about...it goes in a different type feeder. (of which I bought one)

Maynerds is .89 per pound
Flea Farm is 1.24 per pound

Usually around a buck a pound.....I buy when it's on sale.
But, the stores up here have a real short supply for some reason.

That's why I was asking if folks feed this stuff through the winter.

Pretty sure I could feed a short, fat, bald guy for the price of the bird seed.....

Two years ago I bought several 5 gal buckets of bird seed for peanuts at 777 Bear Bait near Cambridge.
