As I said this morning I took the day off.  I have lots of comp and vacation time.  I have noticed that my days off feel different than they used to.  I used to just goof off and sometimes do almost nothing.  Just a day of rest.  Now I am trying to be a little more conscious of being productive in a relaxed way.  I ate breakfast at the right time as I did with lunch.  Got some Ice Rigs made and went for a little walk.  I did take a half hour nap too.  This friggin weather just sucks.  Too cold and all frozen outside to do much so kind of stuck in the house.  This time of year I get so anxious to get in a boat that it gets me down waiting for warm weather.  Oh well just wanted to let you know how my day went.  It went good.  Been reading a retirement thread on WC.

It suks. Snowmobiles covered up, want to hit the lakes but thought I would be pulling the small sled on ice by now. To deep for the SUV and not going to take off across a lake I can see other tracks on. Boooored (pick nose)  :pouty:

Retirement? Ild be afraid to say it.. some of my favorite people retired only to find out they had some rare form of cancer .. just freakin sad. So I think I’ll never officially retire

Yes Beeker I hope all stays well.  That's why I decided to go at 64.  I could work longer but want to go when I feel good and we will be ok financially so why not.  The aches and pains of normal life are creeping up so will keep cutting firewood to keep in shape.  lol

Here is a big question.  What do you guys do for your Medicare supplement?  Through my Union I can get the Blue Cross supplement for about $450 a month.  I was hoping it would be half that much.  I appreciate any info you all have on that.

No military, Mike.  Just got a call that my supplement through my Union which is Blue Cross is going to be $518 a month.  I get a $60 credit so it will cost me $458.  That covers meds also.  Ouch, I thought it would be $200-300 a month.  That's why I wondered if there are more affordable options that still offer good coverage.

Talking to folks around here LPS..... that's really not a bad deal. The price is on the lower end of what you could be paying.

I'll keep digging though....

LPS,
Have you checked if you are eligible to enroll through MNSure.  If so, you could save thousands through the Premium Tax Credit Program.  I retired at 58 and signed up through MNSure when the ACA started.  If you can manage your income, it can be a huge benefit.

I will sure check it out DE.  Thanks  UPDATE:  I found out I am vested in our Union Pension earlier than I thought.  SO retirement has been moved up to August...    :happy1: :happy1: :happy1:   So I will work through July.  Then it will be:  GONE FISHING!!!!  I hardly slept the other night when I realized that.  I am filling out Soc Sec forms today.  Have a PERA seminar in Bemidji in May to sign up with them.   LOLOL
