2018 smackdown thread

Dis year is da quietest smackdown tred I can ever remember Is dis a sign lettin us know dat da boys have lost der confidence. OR are day usin to much Viagra and ain't got time ta go...

Nothin' for the contest, but I DID finally get out with my good ol' fishing buddy Ken yday. Needed to get away for a day, things are pretty bad on the home front. Anywho, had a fair NW wind, 64* degs, it would get dark and rain, clear up, get dark and rain...we fished in it for 5 hours anyway. Got two respectable channel kittycats, one 26" and the other 28*. Last one fought like a bass-terd, my buddy timed me, 14 mn fight to get it in. It would take off and dive, etc. We thought at first from it actions was maybe a small musky. (He poked me about that before it was landed..."It's a musky!!"  Funny guy...  ) Had to take it easy becuz I had 4 lb test and was using an ultralight rig. (Was trying for crappies) Ken grabbed the net and we got both of 'em in the boat. Did catch some nice crappies and a few smallies, too.  I was using a crappie minnow on chartreuse  jighead with tail; and Ken his usual...plain leadhead with a fat crawler. Ken caught seven differnt fish...one of each species! Some nice sunnies, too.  A great day all in all.

Yup, striper, aka white bass. Nope, lake Zumbro. Herds of 'em in dere.  Grew up on dat lake. You'll notice in pic #2 us real-fisherman guys hold dem vicious kitties by the gill with our fingers, not one of those fish-grabber thingies.

Nah reb gotta call ya on it specially when you note how to hold a cat.White bass and striper..2 different species now a whiper is a cross of whities an stripers.That aint no striper.Come on up an fish the minnesota wit me and hold a 20-30 lb flat dat way! Ya, ya, ya. Look in the Mn Fish ID handbook. They call them stripers or white bass. Personally, I don't give a rat's butt what ya call 'em or how ya hold 'em. I just fish for me.

read my last post here.  i wouldnt hold out..............i'd post and rub it in. suppose i coulda posted a  6 inch sunfish  it would of been bigger then boars fish!!!!!!!!!!!!
