I had to ask the DNR I didnt get ye full question answered but heres the reply below,I asked when it started? registering yaks and when it ended also what lengths were required to register.
 I wonder when it will go back to 9 ft or less or maybe any yak will need registered???? WHO KNOWS WHAT OR WHEN THINGS CHANGE ON A WHIM?????


Hello,

Thank you for the email. Because of a change in Minnesota statutes, you no longer need to register your kayak. The threshold for required registration for kayaks changed from 9’ to 10’.
