I sure hope the "street has been sweeped", as the english major reporter said....
It's the one I have to take daily when I leave home.
Last week that big power pole was knocked down in that same exact spot, leaving us without power for 4 hours again. Crap all over the road.  Hmmm....coincidence?

Isn't Crenlo out in that general area?    The do a lot of stuff with metal, creating scrap which has to be disposed of.

Yup, first thing I thought of.  I see a lot of Crenlo trucks on that area of road. Just 3 blocks east of there. Those are leftovers from a punch press die; did far enough of that work to know. Look at bottom straight edge and flat curve; that's no "accidental" scrap.

Man shuts off oxygen to Hospital

ROBBINSDALE, Minn. (AP) - Court documents accuse a man of scaling a fence at a Minneapolis-area hospital and shutting off oxygen to the entire facility.

No charges have been filed and a search warrant affidavit makes no mention of injuries in the Dec. 27 incident at North Memorial Hospital, but the documents say the situation could have been deadly under different circumstances.

The documents says hospital engineers detected a pressure drop in the hospital's oxygen levels and discovered the vandalism. The Star Tribune reports the incident is tied to a man who's suspected of tampering with Xcel Energy meters 250 times.

Guessing between the liberal judges & attorneys who specialize in protecting criminals in this state they let him out if he had been charged. Sorta like the clowns they allow to protest on major interstates without any consequences. The old "Well, no one was harmed." Yet.

200 Kemps  Union workers out of job here...plus all the ones from the canning plant that just closed...this town reminds me of a few lines  Springsteen's song 'My Hometown" :

Seems like there ain't nobody wants to come down here no more
They're closing down the textile mill across the railroad tracks
Foreman says these jobs are going boys and they ain't coming back
To your hometown

I dunno...good question. There isn't a Kemp's or AMPI plant anywhere even close.
We've had both  plants here since the very early 60's, I think.
Sure gonna hurt us, though, especially with all  this DMC crap and taxes that have skyrocketed and doubled. There's no housing available now for low income....and that's what these guys will be, at least for a while. They talk about this place growing into a huge mecca, yet many industry type places have pulled the plug here...AMPI, Kemps, Crenlo, Libby's, etc., not to mention all the restaurants, grocery stores, and retail places that have pulled out. Even the much needed Salvation Army Thrift store, because their lease was terminated and Mayo grabbed the property. Wonder when the sheeple are gonna open their eyes and wake up. Two more of my neighbors put their houses up for sale and are moving out of Rochester, because of all this crap. Said they can't afford to live here. I can't either. So they told me face-to-face two days ago when we were talking outside....

Still gonna make ice cream.   The milk operation was part of the big AMPI plant that they were renting from AMPI for a while even though AMPI had shut down their part.  They made cheese there.    Looks like milk will be going to their cheese plant in Wisconsin among other places.

Also sounds like there is less milk being produced in the SE MN area so that might have something to do with it.

Maybe some of the others reading your alarm calls didn't know that stuff.     I don't think they ever rebuilt the turkey plant in St Charles either.

I'm sure you'll be there to soothe the guys outta work. You must have missed the interviews with the workers that are losing their jobs, with no other skills than that industry....what to do? I feel for 'em.  And this ain't rural St Chuck. That's another community 25 miles east of here. Another story. Another time.

What are the specialized skills working making cheese?  And isn't there a big plant in Zumbrota?  Or maybe it is Pine Island, right on 52?
