I just got back from the big trek to town.  I got a Thanksgiving Day necessity for the last 40 years in our family.  Heinz 57 Sauce.  My Dad got us on that for turkey sandwichs and us kids have kept it going for at least 40 years.  Also got a nice loaf of rye bakery bread from the bakery across the river.  We are having a 16 lb turkey with that dressing I posted.  It will just be the wife and I.  We miss our families but they all have something to do and we have been gone so much this fall we are looking forward to being home all weekend.  Football, Food, and Fun.

Did the big turkey thing with family and friends last weekend. It is my plan to smoke some shrimp and chicken wings along with giving smoked mac and cheese a try. Just me and the wife and football tomorrow.

Well I was going down south to have thanksgiving with my family, but I have this pole building project that’s not getting finished, so the wife is coming up to the lake, and I’m doing all the cooking.
Turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, gravy, green beans, and pumpkin pie. I made the pie this morning, don’t laugh at the crust, it my first attempt.

Actually this is the second year of not 20 or more here, just 7 now. So instead of 1 bird on da grill and one inside it's just one ....on the the grill. Besides squished taters, green bean casserole and lots of homemade lefse I have no idea what else will be on the table.  I'll be ready to give em da boot so the pooch and I can round up our bird chasing stuff and get ready find up some real birds the next day.. :happy1:

Just me, Mrs. Cheviot & Ruby of course. Turkey on the grill, green bean casserole, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, cranberries, stuffing, Auntie Mar Mar's homemade rolls, black olives & pumpkin pie. I'll dump the pumpkins over the fence for the sheep & Ruby will get some of the turkey giblets. After chores at the neighbor's place, heading to look at a used snowblower. Tryng to nip this snow thing in the bud!
