St. James Man Charged For Theft of an Ice House

(Channel 12, Mankato)

(AMBOY, Minn) - Martin County Sheriff's Department has recovered a stolen ice house and are now charging the suspected culprit.

Joshua Boerner of Saint James is charged with felony theft.

A Facebook post by the owner of the house led deputies out to Ida Lake in Amboy where the owner identified and unlocked the house with his key.

The ice house had been painted with camouflage paint when it was found with Boerner's name taped to the front.

Authorities located Boerner and his girlfriend by surveillance footage from a nearby Casey's gas station after finding multiple scratch-off tickets in the house.

Boerner faces up to 10 years in prison if convicted.

Well Boerner sure pulled a boner on that one!   :bonk:

Sounds like a little Love Triangle!

At the end of the interview, Boerner admitted to taking the ice house because he was told to do so by the girlfriend of the man whose truck had been pilfered. Boerner indicated that he and the woman had been friends for a long time and she showed him the property where the ice house was situated. Boerner indicated she paid some of her boyfriend’s bills, so she wanted the ice house for collateral.
