Glenn I saw in the news that a restaurant in your area flooded as people were eating and 44 of them had to be rescued.  Were you and the wife there?  It was Antons.

nope. I havent ate there in a whole lotta years. good food, just not my kinda place. kinda a fancy joint and a bit spendy. where that place is situated its right along the sauk river and its really on low ground. they usually have flooding issues. odd, cause it took a cruise around the lakes and it didn't seem like the water/river was all that high yet? but again it does not surprise me about that place.

if I have flood issues where I live, the whole town of cold spring is in serious trouble.

 Seen it too & thought they said something about an ice jam letting loose  so it came up very fast.

I've canoed that river a thousand times back when I was younger from cold spring to st cloud. and yes, of course there was beer!!!!!!! :happy1: :rotflmao: since the chicken plant has been there that part of the river is always open for quite a ways. but further down I could see where ice got hung up.

again though, Antons is sitting on really low ground and it doesn't take much.

Glad to know you are ok....    :happy1:  I would move my location if it flooded frequently.

I can't believe Slippery's in Wabasha (Grumpy Old men) is still open after all the times they've been flooded....and again big-time this year.

The grocery store in Stillwater that is by the lift bridge fills their basement full of clean water before the floods.  What a pain that would be.   They may not even be there anymore.
