ok so i have spot in the woods, mowed down, now what? ive a tiny window of time to get in and doo stuff befor beans are planted and equipment cant get in. when should a guy plant? how much effort is  need to breack up soil,? i cant fathom picking it clean, i would juzt like run a drage over it and broad cast.

how big is this area? what you gonna plant. i cant imagine planting anything without breaking up or loosening the dirt at least a little??????

well thats what i figure too, ill plant a mix bag variety i got from someone for free, clover, beans and othe things. i plan on breaking up the soil, but to what extent cause it will take alo g time for grubs to rot out.

I would think only an inch or two.  When I planted that chickory and clover mix I just spread it out and raked it in. Granted most of the ground was a bit loosened up. Came up early nice. Gonna throw some fertilizer on it this weekend.

Even if you get/buy a throw and grow...it's better to clear it off some to get seed to soil contact, then drag a small piece of chain link fence over it afterwards to get it covered.

Always have had to have a permit to burn out "in the country", wherever that is now.

No burning allowed in the city anyway.  Everything's illegal here.

we cant burn in town either, however we can have campfires. and maybe occasionally after dark a few leaves in the fall happen to slip into da fire!!!!!!  :rolleyes: :rolleyes: :angel: :angel: :evil:

we've got an old tractor tire rim for a fire ring, 1 of the screened portable things too, but I burn most of the time in a 55 gal SS barrel. I just put the lid on it a lot to keep the flames down a bit.
