French press is a good way of making a good cup of coffee. The only mistake people make is that they use boiling water. The best temp for brewing coffee is 195 to 205 degrees, but closer to 205 is best. Never use boiling water because it’ll burn the coffee and no matter how good the coffee is it will have a burnt bitter taste.
if you kick me when I'm down you better pray I don't get up.

Years ago I ordered a French Press for 1 cup of coffee.  It wasn't much bigger than a half a coffee cup full.  SO then I ordered one the size that guy was using.  Kind of a fun way to make coffee.

I still use the pot Reb has in his post.  Great coffee and it stays hot in that pot for awhile.  Do that at deer camp but ice fishing I usually bring some chicken soup in a thermos.  good luck.

we still have one of them also....for emergency situations. when I do use that one I like making egg coffee.

put coffee grounds in a bowl, add and egg to the grounds and mix well. when the water in the pot boils add the coffee and egg mixture. ya gotta be careful, it boils over easy. when its done add a bit of cold water, that makes all the grounds settle to the bottom quicker.

oh is that good stuff!!!!!!!!!!!!! and OK I will confess...…….in the morning when I head out to the spearshack……..I do bring a thermos of coffee with!!!!!!! :happy1:

We use that kind of coffee pot in our camper.  Love it!
