Is the "Train Wreck" true?
I've always heard stories about the "Train Wreck" on lake of the woods.
David Shaw used to post on here, and I saw this on a Facebook post he made.

What is the true story behind this?

I have heard from credible sources that there is a locomotive in Trout Lake north of Vermillion. On a calm day you are suppose to be able to see the smokestack. I've been on the lake but haven't seen it myself.

I’ve heard talk of a sunken train in Pokegama, too. Pokegama near Grand Rapids, not the one by Pine City. I tried to research that, but couldn’t find anything on it. I think it’s either confused with the Lake Superior wreck or just a (non)-urban legend.

So if a train went down in the lake where are the railroad tracks that it was on the get it there?
