A local bar owner who knows my tastes recently wanted me to try a newish product called "blended bourbon" distilled on New Ulm. It was downright awful. He and another patron sampled it at the same time. All straight up on the rocks. We all agreed that it bad, really bad. Furthermore, who ever heard of a "blended bourbon". I can't remember the name of that swill, I'm trying to erase it from my mind.
Looked it up: Black Frost,  Wheated Blended Bourbon Whiskey.

Where do the MNO glasses come from?
I used to be cute and adorable. Then, I had my first birthday. Been downhill ever since.

That is what they do when they try to make a silk purse out of a sows ear.

Keepers Heart distillery opened in Mpls and they are working up an Irish Whisky.  It ain't there yet so the product they sell is blended with American whisky.  Its drinkable, but I won't buy the blended product again.

I like that Rum Chateau in coffee. Another one that I usually use is Chi Chis Mexican Mudslide. It is a chocolate flavor.

I/we survived! Had something written earlier, lost internet connection & consequently the post. The Blue Coat American gin was a new experience although we thought at first it reminded us of Nolets, a 95.2 proof Dutch gin. We got that one out to test our hypothesis. We concluded that while they were not juniper berry nose forward like most British gins, the sweeter afterglow was less prominent on the Blue Coat than the Nolets which gets its sweetness from rose petal infusion. Did not see rose petals as one of the botanicals listed on Blue Coat. Conclusion: Further studies will be needed.
