Not sure if I should even open it or keep it as a ornament?  I guess I don't need any ornaments though.  I saw part of a good show the other day and would like to see the whole show.  It was the Foods that made American series thing.  They said vodka and gin all start the same way but then they add the juniper taste to the gin later on.  Smirnoff kind of was one of the first I think.

My wife and I got a souvenir bottle of mescal when we were on our honeymoon in Mexico many years ago; one of those tourist bottles with the worm in it.  I can't call it an ornament, because it is WAY in the back of the liquor cabinet, but after all these years, it is only 3/4 full now.  We can't figure out how the alcohol is evaporating thru the glass.  It must be the cap somehow.  Or maybe the worm isn't dead and he's drinking it.  :bonk:

If you open it and drink it, you still have y'er ornamental bottle.  ;)

Small distilleries can be hit and miss - but it all depends on what you like - and you'll never know if you don't try 'em.

Vikre Distillery out of Duluth is good, but your really have to like juniper, pine, or spruce - and nothing seems to be cheap anymore.

There were only 3 other bottles of this on the shelf so either it is selling good or they didn't stock very much of it.

I've got a couple bottles of Brazilian Cachaça, one that is still unopened. It tastes like diesel fuel straight up but used to make caipirinha's, it'll mess you up. I started drinking a few one night and damn near forgot to put the grate back in the charcoal grill before putting the lamb chops on. :doah: The bottles are pretty cool tho. One is wrapped in what I think are sugar cane leaves. Haven't opened the other one but it's supposed to be higher end than the Germana brand.

One of my faves, especially when we get down to the lower end coffee. Smooths it right out. :happy1:

For me it can be a good way to start the day. Just a few cups though.

Canadian breakfast.   Coffee and creamer.  Makes great french toast too.  Forget the milk.
