I was raised on a gas stove 😂

I've cooked on both. Grew up with LP, had to use several electrics from college until married, then natural gas, switched back to LP briefly at one place, then back to natural gas where we live now until a leak forced us back to LP. Cook on electric in Canada (cheap hydro electricity) & it takes some getting used to, again. Still much rather cook on a gas stove. Had friends that bought an induction range. They hated it & switched back to gas.

What about gas furnace or water heater!! These same morons are probably the ones wanting to shut down coal fire power plants.  What are they converting them too. GAS !!

I've seen the Trumka JR name involved but I'm not sure yet if he's the one and same or relative to the Trumka that heads the AFL-CIO?

only time I used a gas stove is when we had the camper otherwise it's been electric, even growing up at home.  Well we do use a Coleman stove occasionally!!

I don't have a gas line to my house!

I am not in the get rid of gas stove crowd BUT.  When you burn gas it gives off carbon monoxide and that is in the room when you use a gas stove or oven.  When you use a gas furnace the burning takes place in a sealed plenum and then the gasses are sent up a chimney so they aren't in the living space.  The newer ones only need a pvc pipe to evacuate those gases since they are so efficient those gasses aren't even hot.  Just like using a non-vented heater in a fish house.  It adds moisture to the inside of the house too.  The carbon monoxide is still there in your living space and can give you head aches and make breathing harder.  You will sometimes notice you are actually breathing harder if you stay in long enough.  That carbon monoxide adds up in your body and the more you are breathing it the more adds up in your body.  It takes a long time for it to leave your body.  That is why when I bought the fish house business the first thing I did was switch to vented furnaces.  They also don't burn up the oxygen in the living space like non vented ones do.

I had buddies that were carpenters that in the winter time they worked in areas tented off with plastic so they ran propane space heaters in those areas.  When they fished in a non vented fish house they did get sicker and had headaches cuz their bodies accumulated so much CO in their bodies from work and fishing. Not a good thing.

We really like our cook stove. Its a real gas. Our old 1880s farm house is pretty well vented.

I think each burner is about 7,000 btu's.  We used to use them to help heat the house when we were young bachelors.

Well aware that CO can be emitted. As they say tho, dilution is the solution. Not real concerned here with 3000 sq. ft. for it to escape into. We also have CO detectors. We use the gas stove a lot less than our folks did with more options to cook with. Imagine what used to happen when we ran diesel in the Knipco shearing during sub-zero weather. We wondered why we hacked & coughed for days afterwards.

We point box fans at the cracks in the house to cut down on cold air infiltration.

I plan on converting to propane from ele. With my water heater, dryer, and range, if i can civunce the wife. Buggest users of electric in the house

We have electric stove, water heater and our furnace is dual heat.  Electric and propane.  Electric is cheaper to use than propane this year. So been using that most of the time this winter for heat.

yes every room has baseboard!!

I've never been in a situation with power being out long enough to worry about not having heat. Living in town does help. I have enough things to cook with!
