Yah Santana needs to go.  He's over-rated.  The only pitcher in the Cleveland series who couldn't get a win.  As far as Hunter is concerned, he has been on a tear lately and that's great and I hope he keeps it up. But if you look at his career stats up to this year He has averaged about 24 hrs and 90 rbi's with a .268 BA.  Hardly the stats for a $12 million player which was my point in the earlier post.  Maybe we could pick up 3-4 free agents for the $12 million we would save on his contract.  Then again, the Twins and the Pohlad family may decide that with revenue from the new stadium coming in 2010 they can afford to pay someone with average stats $12 million because he is good in the club house, good defensively and is the poster child that replaced Kirby Puckett.

Keep it up, you are probably going to talk him into throwing a no hitter tonight.

I totally agree with you on Hunter.  I would be fine keeping him around for less money although after this strech he might have made it hard for them not to pick up the 12 million dollar option for next year.

they won't be able to afford hunter... they need to keep mauer, morneau... they'll get some bucks.? unless pohlad wants to increase the team salary from 63 mill to 80.
