The deer were on the move

Crazy time hunting today. I saw 21 deer today 5 of them bucks. Two small bucks, one medium, one nice one and one extra-large. The deer were not afraid to come close. At least 12 of them came within 30 yards. No, I did not get the extra-large one. He was standing in a swamp over 200 yards away but still was awesome site. Just as the light was fading a buck came on the field I was watching. He looked really big in the low light. I waited to see if he would come closer, but it appeared he was heading away. I ranged him at 70 yards. With a solid rest, I set the 70-yard dot square on his chest and loosed the arrow. I was able to see the lighted nock fly and then disappear. I heard the distinct whack sound and was sure he was hit. He spun around and ran into the woods. I was sure I heard the sound of him crashing but you never know. By the time I got to my bloody arrow I needed to use a headlamp to see into the woods. I walked back and forth in the area where he left the field and was happy to spot good blood. I found the buck about 25 yards into the woods. Hard to get a good picture when you are alone in the dark.

Heck ya DE. That is one heck of a shot at 70 yards. Even with a xbow. Nice deer! You need to enter him into the bbbc.
