I am in the western suburbs.

I am wondering where you go to sight your guns in.  I know of a rifle range out in Minnetrista, but they have a backlog on memberships for 1-2 years it looks like, although I heard they can have guests (anybody a member of the Minnetonka Sportsmen?)

Thanks

Thanks for the link.  I've seen it before, and as you indicate, there is a real dearth of options.

Hopefully somebody else can share a tip.

I've been to 2 ranges in the metro area.

Oakdale gun club in Lake Elmo is a nice range but expensive, l quit going there 4 years ago when it went to $15 a gun.

Dakota County gun club in Rosemount, I went there once a few years ago and the lady running the range pissed me off. I waited in line for about 45 minutes i had my shotgun with a Bushnelll Holosight and when i finally got to my station, i took one shot and hit the paper about an inch high and an inch left of the bullseye, she came up to me and said i was done, she would not let me fire another shot. I argued with her for a minute and explained that i had waited 45 minutes, paid $10 and only took 1 shot? She said, my gun was right on and i was done. i told her that it couple have been a lucky shot and I wanted to take a few more to be sure.

I'll never go back there. I go out to private land now and set up my own range.

Anyone else have a suggestion?

Ya beat me to it. Forest Lake Sportsman's Club is very nice.

I went up with Oober Ponage (12 years old) for sight in days and there were scopes mounted between each lane, many targets already set up for you...it was as easy as you could immaging plus the range manager was VERY helpful.  We moved to a different range and he checked in with us again and when we left he was near the exit and talked to us about it again.

It was great and I'd love to get a membership there.  They have 5 stand, skeet, and sporting clays and I've heard they have a great archery range too -- regular ranges, elevated stands, 3D...
If ya don't know where ya are, go back to da beginnin.

I think Hunterdown should have us a big sight in party.
