Best place to buy a deep cycle battery from,and what brand works for you?

I need to buy both a start battery and a deep cycle this year, normly I buy from Battery city in NE Mpls because I used to work next to them and they give my company emplyee's a discount.

Fleet nd Farm seems like a good source, but would like to see where you all buy yours from?

Bought from FF in the past but you only get a one year warrenty. Started going to Wal-fart. Three year warrenty and they hold up good and won't break the bank.

just go to any GOOD !! auto parts store they will help you out.....do not go to one  from of the disscound part stors all you will get is junk ..........i sell batteries and have see a lot of junk out there you would not want to put in your boat exid makes a good and so dose east penn if you get there better ones they also make wallmarts cheep ones but dont let that scare you off from one of there better ones lol .....and a word about warrenty .........most all of them have a 1 year on them becouse becouse people do not take care of them .......they dont take them out of the boat at the  end of the year and then they frezze over winter and that is the the batteries falt it was the owners falt ......you need to take them out of the boat and put them in your basment in the winter and put a charger on them onces or two times in the winter ......if you spend a little bit more money up front you wond have to pay latter  :fishing2:

I have sold hundreds of interstate batterys, Both auto and deep cycle.
They last a long time. They might be more spendy, But worth it in my
opinion.

FF is a good place I usually buy them there. You should buy some optima batteries heard they last a longtime and hold an awesome charge.

Thanks people, I just tlked with my nieghbor who hs a boat as well.
He showed me a Walmart everstart that is 4 years old and still holds a charge good.
I also heard good thing about the interstates and Optimas.

I want to get one that can take the pounding of being mounted in the bow storge under the front seat.

I heard the optima's can take the beating well.

I heard the same thing about the optima batteries....
Was also told that they will hold a charge longer, even with an older trolling motors.

But, what is the cost of one of them compaired to a standard deep cell battery?

The optima batteries are I think a $100+ but I hear from many people they are def. worth the extra money.

optima are most the time 2 times the amount of a normal batteries and they will take a better A LOT better because they are an agc (6 pack) we sell them to people with race cars all the time because normal batteries don't hold up because of the the shacking they get in the car

So who sells the Optim's?
I think Cabela's has them but they are always more expensive than any one else.

Cabela's also has AGC batteries besides the Optima.

Another point I should ask is, will an Optima or an AGC battery hold up to being on  battery maintanace charger for a month or two before being used or discharged?

I am leaning towrd the Fleet and farm Resolute brand, just for price and I have to go by there tomorrow any way.

Ken,let me know what price you can get for one though.
I might be persuaded to go that route as well.
