There was no way that I would have eaten that fish.  I thought about putting it in front of a trail cam but that would have been illegal (wanton waste).  I released it alive.

In 2 hours of fishing we caught 12 pike with the longest one being the skinny one.  most were 2-2.5 lbs.  great eaters.  I talked to a few of the locals and they say there are some larger fish but you have to pick through the little ones.  Lots of bass also, most are small. we also caught 4 one pounders.  I lost one that jumped buy the boat that was about 4 pounds.  shallow but very clear.

You should defintily show those pics to the DNR! Did you see anything on its gills? I have never seen anything like that before but you better hope it doesn't spread throught the lake!

I tried to look it up on the DNR website, and could find nothing that look the exact same, but If I had to make a guess I would say some sort of tumor.

My buddy caught a 27 inch Northern ice fishing last year that had about an 8 inch long eel hanging off it.  That thing was one of the nastiest looking things i've ever seen.  Looked like something that could put an Alien baby inside your stomach...
