I am planning on going crow hunting for this first season here in Minnesota. I already have land that I could use for hunting crows, but my question is what is up with this season? What kind of licences would you need to do this? And how would you go about eating these if you can? Is it just like any bird to clean and eat?  :fudd:

The season opens march 1st for the month, its a blast too,not so much about having land but finding them as they migrate. We use remote ecallers and run and gun looking for sentinels sitting on tree tops, then call'em in during the spring hunts.Would'nt eat'em either, ishta, eating dead road kill and such, nope not me,just whack'em and stack'em.

I stated this before but if you wish to eat them other than blackbird pie they make a great key lyme disease pie

One thing to make you success rate a bit higher is once you find them set up wind of them.  That when when you turn the caller on they can hear it.

I needed some black feathers for some fly's and jigs I'm making.
So, I whacked a couple crows....
One got stuck in a tree as it fell, but this one hit the ground.  ;D

Crows
• Crows may be taken without a license in season or at any time
when they are doing or are about to do damage.
• Electronic calls or sounds may be used for crow hunting.
• Crows may be taken with a legal firearm (shotgun not larger than
10 gauge, rifle, or handgun), bow and arrow, or by falconry.

Come take as many as you want.    All crows look like they are about damage to me.
