I have a friends auger to sell, But when you start it the auger turns at idle. The clutch must be locked up. Any Idea's?

Is the idle set high?

If not, then yea...it's locked up...

Take it into Strikemaster in Big Lake. Their customer service is bar none and they will help you out.
Friends are like buttcheeks..........crap might separate them, but they come together in the end.

likely the clutches are stuck.
the clutches are steel, without padding and the drum is steel as well. if it has sat for a while I could easily see this being the case.
maybe a possible broken clutch spring. another easy fix.
excessively high idle would also do this, as it would cause the clutches to engage the clutch drum.
a simple fix.
take a kid hunting and fishing!!

Thanks guys! It has sat for who knows how long... It idles ok, The auger keeps spinning. Will
have to take it apart this fall.
