I planted a bunch this year and the deer love it. it looks like grass. i thought it would look like wheat or somthing like that. The brassicas are still there with some turnips getting hit now. They sure like the rye grain.

I planted some as well...some did mature, looking like wheat.
In the spring it will grow to maturity with seeds. (unless you hack it off)
It should be the first thing to turn green in your food plot after the snow is gone.

Planted about 1/2 an acre total and the deer never let it get taller then 3 inches.  I will be planting a lot more next year.
Anything that is free is worth saving up for.

It's still green. They wiped out a smaller plot I had of it. Every night they come in to munch on it.

they destroyed my turnips before the season started and are now working over my clover patch
