Since Tecumseh went out of business 2 years ago, what brand of engine has Jiffy switched to?  My Jiffy still has a Tecumseh motor and replacements parts are increasing hard to find.  What does Strikemaster use?

I have been told it's a Chinese made motor.

Just in case you guys are still on here.  My strikemaster Lazer mag throttle froze up last weekend.  I had sharp blades so I was able to get two holes drilled.  I am going to fish tomorrow and I tested it.  The throttle is unfroze but I am afraid I may have stretched something.  I does not seem to get to max rpms at full throttle. Is there an adjustment screw for the throttle cable?   There is a screw right where the cable enters the engine.  I can't really see any other areas for adjustment.

Usually the throttle cables are stranded metal so it's unlikely you stretched it out.  There is, not sure if yours has this, a black plastic covering that the cable can slide through.  Some lawnmowers have this a a throttle cable for high and low speed.  If this casing/covering gets wrecked, the throttle won't work properly.

Usually where teh throttle cable attachews to the side of the engine there is a bolt that tightens down on the end of the cable.  If yours i slike mine when the cable freezes and you squeeze the handle, the cable gets pulled out a little.  All you should have to do is loosen this bolt slide the cable back in a small amount and then tighten the bolt again.  This happens about once a year to mine if it gets laid down in the snow.

Used it this morning.  Something is definitely wrong.  It's better than last weekend but still not reaching max rpms.  Runs fine.  I am going to bring it in and warm it up.  It sounds like what you mentioned.  Thanks guys.
